We are currently recruiting 2 x Coppersmiths / Pipefitters for a dayshift contract position with one of our key marine industry clients. This is a great opportunity to join a skilled team supporting a high-profile shipbuilding or vessel maintenance environment.
Key Responsibilities for the Coppersmith / Pipefitter:
•Carry out copper and general pipefitting works on marine vessels and components
•Install, maintain and repair pipe systems and related fittings across a variety of sizes and materials (e.g., copper, stainless steel, mild steel)
•Work from detailed engineering drawings, isometric and schematic layouts
•Pressure test, flush, and inspect systems in line with QA requirements
•Collaborate closely with welders, mechanical fitters, and project supervisors
•Maintain safe working practices and adhere to HSE standards on site
•General fabrication and repair duties where required
•Support ad hoc tasks to assist the day shift team as needed
Essential Skills & Qualifications of the Coppersmith / Pipefitter:
•Proven experience in a marine or shipbuilding environment (highly desirable)
•Strong background in copper pipework installation and/or repair
•Ability to interpret technical drawings and work independently
•NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Pipefitting or Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
•Comfortable using a variety of hand tools and equipment

Qualifications and requirements for the Marine Electronic Commissioning Engineer:
Education: UK Level 5 awards (HND, Foundation degree) or higher in Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role in the maritime industry preferred however, applicants from other industries (e.g., military, automotive) will be seriously considered.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of electronic control systems - Familiarity with mechanical drive systems, bearings, and hydraulics.
Troubleshooting and Diagnostic Skills: Proficient in identifying, analysing, and resolving technical issues in electronic control systems. Ability to use diagnostic tools and software effectively.
Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally, and work in challenging environments, including ships at sea.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to customers and internal teams.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Production & Process Engineer

Create production BOM models in SolidWorks and run virtual build reviews with stakeholders to refine build sequences.

Process Improvement & Manufacturing Support
Identify manufacturing needs for new products in development and ensure seamless transition from design to production.
Reduce variability and improve repeatability in manufacturing by implementing standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Remove inefficiencies from production processes through lean manufacturing methods and continuous improvement initiatives.
Implement and monitor production performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Technical & Cross-Functional Support

Qualifications and Requirements for the Production & Process Engineer

Practical engineering knowledge of a range of automotive systems.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
