Our client, a leading financial services firm based in Newcastle, is looking to recruit an Information Security Manager to join on an initial 3-month fixed term contract.
The successful candidate will lead information security for the firm, ensuring corporate and client data is protected and compliant with legal and internal standards.
Essential Skills/Experience:
Proven track record of implementing information security practices within a large and diverse organisation.
Evidence of competency in the creation and implementation of Information security solutions, procedures and practices.
Solid technical knowledge and experience on security technologies (like Endpoint protection, Mobile Security, Data Protection, Cloud Security, etc.) and on cyber security capabilities (SIEM, SOC, CERT, Vulnerability Management, Threat intelligence etc.)
Strong knowledge of main Information Security standards and framework (ISO27001, ISO22301, ISF, NIST, COBIT.)
Good background in information management, with clear understanding of the challenges of Information and IT security.
A good understanding and experience of implementing information security within cloud-based environments.
Experience and skills in the project management of corporate Information security projects.
Excellent oral and written communications skills, as well as ability to present and explain information security in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding across the organisation.
Certifications on Information Security (e.g. CISSP, CISM, ISO27001, ISO22301 etc.) beneficial.
Core Responsibilities:
Provide consultancy across the business (UK & Internationally as required) to ensure relevant and appropriate information security controls are applied to ensure both the departmental and business objectives are met.
Liaise with management and business users, to understand business goals, priorities, and information needs, and to recommend information security practices and solutions in line with business requirements.
Manage security assessments, based on leading information security standard ISO 27001:2022. This includes oversight on physical & corporate security, in alignment with the local facility teams.
Ensure alignment of solutions to the corporate and divisional strategies by balancing the business requirements with the security constraints and risks.
Liaise with the various business units across the firm to ensure our business processes are conducted in a safe and secure manner and meet our business requirements.
Keep abreast of the current security threat landscape and provide relevant and up to date guidance on proposed information security risks to the business.
Keep abreast of developments in IT and Information security and offer guidance and consultancy to ensure both suitability and sustainability of IT and Information security strategies.
Understand and ensure compliance to relevant legislation and corporate policies in relation to information security (e.g. GDPR, OFGEM requirements).
Provide a Risk Management approach to ensure Information security solutions and controls are commensurate to the business risks and risk appetite.
Develop and maintain an information security strategy in alignment with the firm’s strategy.
Ensure the relevant policies, plans and procedures, in relation to business continuity and crisis management, based on firm requirements, are developed and applied to minimise disruption to the business in the event of an incident occurring.
Liaise with internal staff and external companies to ensure optimum solutions are chosen.
Ensure compliance & adoption of corporate and local policies and security standards.
Escalate risks and issues to the appropriate levels and ensure a timely resolution to actions raised.

Our client is a well-established Managed Service Provider based in Central London.
Position Overview
You’ll be the primary point of contact for clients, providing both on site and remote support. This role is for someone who enjoys both desk work and outgoing meeting clients.
Responsibilities
• Client Interaction: Engage directly with clients, offering solutions and support for IT-related issues.
• Project Management: Oversee projects from initial diagnostics to final resolution, including onboarding/offboarding staff, and conducting inductions.
• Technical Mastery: Handle desktop, application, and network support, including installation of networking equipment like switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Networking Expertise: Work with TCP/IP, VLANs, and various networking hardware—ideally UniFi, Aruba, and Cisco.
• Collaborative Troubleshooting: Work alongside third-party technical teams to support PDQs and ePOS systems, with ample training provided.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Skills and personal qualities
• Communication Pro: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Tech Savvy: Experience with managing both PCs and Macs in a business environment.
• Cloud and Software: Familiarity with managing Office 365 or G Suite environments.
• Networking Knowledge: Proficient in networking hardware, with a strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols and the ability to troubleshoot network issues.
• Security Skills: Experience with firewalls, security software, and modern internet technologies.
• Experience in Hospitality: Prior experience in the hospitality sector is highly beneficial.
This role mainly works with small businesses across London, you won’t be touching security or client servers (In house servers in place). You’ll need to be able to go to client sites from day one to do patching and crimping, So strong customer service is needed.

The role is predominantly night shifts starting from our office in Arundel where you will collect your vehicle and equipment for the the night. All necessary uniform and equipment is provided and you will be given peer-to-peer training on all our different rounds.
Your duties may include:-
Driving a patrol van to a variety of sites in a designated area
Carrying out external site patrols
Carrying out internal site patrols
Locking and unlocking buildings
Responding to emergency alarms (intruder alarms, CCTV activations, fire alarms)
Working to a timetable for certain tasks
Planning your own workload to ensure duties are carried out within time windows
Ensuring that buildings are secure through checking windows, doors and vulnerable areas
Carrying out and recording a variety of tasks using a phone/PDA app
Producing important security and safety reports for our client
In order to complete core elements of the apprenticeship, you may from time to time need to undertake security 'static' roles on a fixed location which include security reception at corporate offices, distribution warehouses or production sites. Again, you will receive peer-to-peer training on all roles.Training Outcome:

Assist Management with day-to-day administrative tasks
Help with HR day to day tasks such as absences, note taking, distributing training from our atlas platform, etc
Comprehensive document management support including photocopying, scanning, printing
Liaising with departments within the business to gain extra details if required. Ongoing Support to Gather compliance information for Audits and to comply with are screening and vetting standards
To support the Operations/Business Managers with effective management of operational activity
Responsible for ordering and maintaining an appropriate stock of stationery for the office and keeping the stationery areas in good order for all to use
Agreed project work with your line manager
Ability to identify situations that could result in customer complains in order to prevent the complaint from occurring
Training:Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:
Blended learning on and offline
Observations in the workplace
Minimum of 6 hours off the job training per week
If 4/C in maths & English at GCSE's has not been obtained, functional skills will be required

Potential to be a permanent role once apprenticeship is completed
