The following are the core responsibilities of the Learning Support Assistant (LSA).
There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
Assist with the planning of learning activities by identifying and preparing resources required to support lesson plans and learning outcomes
Preparing materials/equipment (e.g. books, pencils, art supplies, sort games) preparing and clearing up activities with the pupils;
Maintaining classroom resources and designated areas
Assisting with reading, word and number games, science and art and craft activities to support learning outcomes using the teacher-planned teaching and learning method
Providing unobtrusive guidance and support to enable pupils to find answers to questions and tasks set, using knowledge of each pupil’s differing levels of development and ability to ensure progression and continuity
Supervise individual or small groups of pupils undertaking teacher-led learning activities by coordinating and explaining basic instructions for the activity, adjusting activities within the scope of the lesson plan and learning outcomes in response to pupils’ learning needs
Assisting pupil achievement by monitoring learning against learning outcomes, informing the teacher of progress/problems
Assist pupils in developing their independence through undertaking tasks
Support the use of IT as a tool to enable learning
Support the development of literacy and numeracy skills of pupils from a wide variety of backgrounds
Administer and mark routine tests with clearly defined predetermined answers
Assist with special activities in the school within school hours (e.g. sports days, plays, concerts, open days), accompany on school visits, projects
Ensure that pupils work and play together positively and cooperatively by modelling and encouraging positive behaviour
Helping pupils change for practical activities
Arrange the classroom to create a positive learning environment, including arranging classroom displays

The gardens and grounds of Wherwell are currently undergoing extensive restoration, supported by substantial investment.
The successful candidate will play an active role in this transformation, contributing to key developments including the establishment of a new walled garden and the installation of modern greenhouses. This provides an exciting opportunity to be involved in the evolution of a high-quality private estate garden.
Working under the guidance of the Head Gardener, the apprentice will assist in both the maintenance and establishment of the gardens. The role offers valuable hands-on experience across all aspects of horticulture, enabling the development of essential practical skills within a supportive and professional setting.
To include:
Pruning of shrubs
Ground preparation and weeding
Planting
Use of machinery - including pedestrian and ride-on mowers, hedge cutters, strimmers, blowers and a variety of hand tools
This position is ideally suited to a highly motivated and energetic individual with a genuine enthusiasm for horticulture, strong attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills.Training:Day release to Sparsholt College during term time. Purpose of the Role:
The Business Administrator Apprentice will provide effective administrative and operational support to members of the Nottinghamshire TORCH SCITT team. Working closely with the SCITT Operations Manager and the wider team, the role is designed to develop the apprentice’s knowledge, skills and behaviours in line with the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard, while contributing to the efficient running of recruitment, onboarding, training and compliance activities across the SCITT.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Onboarding:
Support trainee recruitment administration, including interview scheduling, candidate communication and references
Assist with interview and assessment activities
Support trainee onboarding, ensuring documentation is accurate, complete and compliant
Undertake safeguarding and regulatory checks in line with Trust and statutory requirements
Monitoring Trainee Progress:
Support administration and monitoring of trainee progress throughout the SCITT programme
Maintain accurate attendance, progress review and compliance records
Assist with tracking trainee engagement, milestones and outcomes using internal systems and DfE portals
Support meetings and correspondence linked to trainee progress, attendance and welfare
Escalate concerns appropriately under the direction of the SCITT Leadership Team
Business Administration and Compliance:
Assist with maintaining the Single Central Record, personnel files and archiving systems
Support administration related to health and safety statutory obligations

Communication and Customer Service:
Provide reception and front-line support, responding professionally to telephone and email enquiries

Interview underpinned by a portfolio of evidence, you will have an interview with an independent assessor. It will last at least 60 minutes. They will ask you at least 8 questions. The questions will be about certain aspects of your occupation. You need to compile a portfolio of evidence before the EPA gateway.
