ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Partner with LEAN leadership in eliminating unplanned production interruptions. Use DAKOTA as the compliance tool to report incidents, near misses and non-conformances, and to maintain compliance with EH&S. Work with the maintenance crew to implement the needed preventative measures. Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions. Prepare capital projects for submission to management. Included are costs, schedule, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and needed procedures. Serve as lead project engineer for approved capital projects with the goal of on time and on budget completion. Develop and administer a viable and visual Preventative Maintenance Program that reduces downtime and improves overall reliability of production and production supporting machinery. Responsible for identifying capital requirements for the facility's annual capital plan and budget. Direct, review, and approve product design and changes consistent with MOC procedures. Recruit departmental employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence. Analyze annual site utility expenditure and develop plan to optimize plant efficiency to reduce costs (ISO 14001). Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services. Integrate the plant PHA initiative with the appropriate capital projects. Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operations and work with the maintenance crew to implement the needed preventative measures. Interface with leadership, operators, and maintenance to develop needed TPM programs. Support SPC, DOE's, and other Quality initiatives. Lead Engineer for the production processes. Develop facility infrastructure upgrade plan.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
At least 1-2 years in a supervisory role. 5-10 years of Facility and Process Engineering experience. Experience managing capital projects required. Experience is Engineering Management. PHA and "Process Safety Management" experience a positive.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. As a Degree Engineer Technician, we’ll work in partnership to create a personal development plan designed to focus on the specific learning and development needs associated with your role. Job Summary
The Machinery Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Mechanical Department, ensuring projects are executed safely, within quality standards, and on budget. The role includes monitoring departmental performance against financial targets, identifying areas of improvement, and implementing corrective actions to support the organization’s overall operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily operations of the mechanical department in both onboard and workshop environments, ensuring compliance with established processes and procedures.
Develop and manage departmental budgets, including manpower, operational expenditure (OPEX), and capital expenditure (CAPEX).
Ensure effective management of materials, equipment, personnel, and administrative processes.
Review project scopes, establish objectives and schedules, and oversee production to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
Coordinate with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to resolve project-related issues.
Optimize the use of manpower, equipment, and resources while maintaining cost control and efficiency throughout the year.
Implement systems to track and monitor productivity metrics and drive continuous improvement.
Lead and mentor team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, development, and innovation.
Ensure all activities are properly documented for billing and reporting purposes.
Maintain alignment with the organization’s value chain throughout all operations.
Approve the procurement of necessary equipment, spares, and materials.
Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards, fostering a safe and sustainable work environment.
Promote employee wellbeing, adhering to health and safety protocols, participating in wellness programs, and addressing workplace concerns proactively.

Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications include a Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineer Officer) Class 3 to 1 (Motor Ship), or equivalent credentials.
Project management certification is advantageous.
Experience:
A minimum of 10 years of experience in the marine industry, with extensive knowledge in ship engines and machining tools.
At least 3–4 years of experience in a managerial role overseeing production and operations in ship repair, conversion, new building, offshore, or related fields.

Based on site, you will understand the design, construction and maintenance of infrastructure
Work alongside the Site Manager and Site Engineer understanding full site operations, from site set up, construction, installation and handover
Learn how to set out structures, roads, pipework and ducting above and below ground
Keep accurate records for as built data and feed this information back into the Building Information Modelling (BIM) system
Carry out and record quality assurance requirements and work within the team to plan and deliver the works including selecting the correct plant and ordering materials
Work with the site team to carry out health, safety and environmental monitoring in line with the Business Management Systems (BMS)
Training:You will receive full on the job training by your dedicated mentor. Your apprenticeship will be supported by an external service provider at college or in a classroom environment. The training is likely to be 1 week blocks with Leeds College of Building. This may require you to be away from home for that time but all related expenses will be covered by JN Bentley.
The qualification you will undertake will be a Level 4 Civil Engineering Senior Technician apprenticeship.Training Outcome:Once you complete your apprenticeship, you will be considered for further training. This will be discussed with both your mentor and our Learning and Development team.
After completing your initial apprenticeship in civil engineering, you could go on to study further qualifications or a degree apprenticehip.
You will also gain support to gain professional membership of the ICE. Role and Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python, PySpark and Databricks.
Implement data orchestration workflows using Airflow or similar tools.
Manage and optimize data storage solutions on Azure Cloud.
Develop and maintain containerized microservices using Docker.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality and integrity.
Support the setup of blockchains.
Build tools to acquire data from blockchains and perform analysis on the data using Databricks.
Support production infrastructure, including monitoring and automation using tools like Datadog.
Participate in agile development practices, contributing to planning exercises and working in cross-functional groups.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
Advanced Python knowledge for data processing and scripting.
Proven experience with Spark and SQL for data engineering and analysis.
Experience with data orchestration tools like Airflow.
Hands-on experience with one or more cloud services (Azure, AWS, GCP).
Proficiency in RDBMS/NoSQL data stores and appropriate use cases.
Experience with Data as Code; version control, small and regular commits, unit tests, CI/CD, packaging, familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker (must have) and Kubernetes (plus).
Solid understanding of the software development life cycle.
Understanding of blockchain technologies and data structures.
Knowledge of cryptography and its application in blockchain is a plus.
Experience with blockchain indexing is a plus.
Experience with Databricks for data ingestion and transformation is a plus.
Familiarity with Delta Lake and data warehousing concepts is a plus.
Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
