A client within the Public Sector based in the Northeast is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Surveyor to join their Repairs and Voids team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a maintenance environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to ensure the effective delivery of repairs and voids maintenance services. You will be responsible for managing repairs and voids within a geographic region of up to 1,500 properties, collaborating with internal teams and contractors to provide high-quality, timely repairs for our customers.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Ensure the effective delivery of repairs and voids maintenance services, overseeing the progress of works orders within agreed timeframes.
Handle complex and major repairs cases including insurance claims resulting from fires and other major incidents and disrepair inspections as required.
Liaise with customers, arrange visits to identify any repairs required, raising repairs, writing any required reports, and managing them through to completion.
Complete repairs post-inspections and checks to ensure quality, value for money, and customer satisfaction.
Carry out full house surveys following damp, mould, and condensation requests, managing each case through to completion, with accurate data recording.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
HNC in Building or equivalent qualification or qualified through experience in maintenance or construction.
Strong understanding of contract performance and budget management, with evidence of relevant experience.
Ability to interpret building legislation and understand product lifecycles.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong time management capabilities.
Strong customer focus, with the ability to see services from the customer's perspective and ensure satisfaction.
Proficiency in IT systems, including operational software for property management.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such is offering £27 p/h Umbrella Ltd. (approx. £21 p/h PAYE).

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
To assist and be trained to provide support to the buildings officer in maintaining the school by carrying out preventative and planned maintenance programmes and undertake routine inspections of the buildings, fixtures, fittings, premises and grounds to assess for minor works or repairs required
This includes assisting and being trained to carry out a wide range of duties such as:
GENERAL CLEANING DUTIES:
Ensure caretaking equipment is clean, safe to use and correctly stored
Basic maintenance of caretaking equipment
Transport refuse to bin and skip areas
To undertake emergency cleaning and other occasional cleaning as specified, during normal hours after ill children, floods or additional cleaning in toilet areas
Mop up and remove spillage, floods, vomit and obnoxious waste in line with agreed procedures
Clean and tidy all yards, paths, gullies and drains on a regular basis, including the emptying of all external litterbins, including a daily check for litter and graffiti. Remove all litter and leaves from the hard and soft ground areas related to the site
Clear snow off main paths, steps and ramps to facilitate safe access of pupils and staff to premises. Grit as necessary
To clean high walls and internal windows.
MAINTENANCE:
To monitor all contractors’ personnel on site and ensure that work is satisfactorily completed. Accompany contractor on and off site as necessary
Maintain and refer to the Log Book for maintenance jobs to be undertaken
To identify and report any repairs, maintenance or replacement that require rectification
Initiate work orders for repair and liaise with staff from other departments and outside contractors
To carry out basic maintenance work following appropriate training
To ensure that arrangements for maintenance, minor repairs and modifications are affected as quickly as possible
To install, maintain or repair jobs of a nature relative to the fabric, fixtures and fittings of the building, equipment and furniture

As part of your training, you will attend GLP Training Centre's in Worcester every 3 months for 2-3 days. All travel expenses and accommodation will be covered for you to attend this training

The Role
We are looking for Retail Team Driver to add to our already successful team.
This role will require you to oversee the transportation of a small team of stock counters to and from each shift within your region
Work will be carried out on different Retail customer sites / stores and travel will vary on a shift-by-shift basis.
You must follow the correct processes when notifying your count team of the pick-up points and timings for each shift
Escalating any issues with the vehicle in a timely and efficient manner
Completing a team attendance sheet, detailing the stock counters expected on the bus, who attended and the arrival time of the bus on site.
Whilst on site you will be responsible for ensuring stock is counted quickly and accurately using a handheld scanner.
Being able to stand for prolonged periods of time is needed for the role and access equipment may have to be used on occasion to reach high stock
Key Skills/ Experience Required
This role will involve working unsociable hours, working early mornings or night shifts, this therefore means we are unable to hire anyone under the age of 21 years.
This role requires you to have a Full Driving License.
You must have a ‘can do’ attitude and be able to work long shifts where required on large counts.
With our innovative business, the technology changes and therefore being a quick learner is a key skill required.
Any experience of handling stock is an advantage but not a necessity.

The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator forms an integral part of the Retail management team, working closely with both the shop management and HR teams. They will be responsible for recruiting, organising and coordinating the charity’s volunteers and the volunteer programme – working with our shop managers to develop their skills to drive recruitment, improve retention, and ensure they have the right number of volunteers in the right locations to support our work.
Role Responsibilities
Deliver recruitment targets by shop to ensure they have sufficient volunteers and volunteer hours to support financial objectives
Support the onboarding of the volunteers for various retail roles
Engage the volunteer team with the charities work and help them to understand the value of their contribution
Maintain an empowered, well trained, motivated and engaged volunteer team with excellent communication at team and individual level
Attend in-person recruitment events to engage with our volunteering communities
