The Role of Production Operator
As a Production Operator, you will work as part of the production team to support the smooth running of the factory. This is a hands-on role where you will be involved in a variety of tasks across production, warehousing, and logistics.

Operating machinery within the production facility
Carrying out basic machine checks and supporting maintenance where required
Operating FLT Counterbalance trucks safely and efficiently
Assisting with loading, unloading, warehousing, and packaging activities

Training:The apprentice will work towards the Level 3 Print Technician Apprenticeship Standard. Training will be delivered by BPIF Training through a combination of on-the-job learning, remote training sessions and regular workplace visits from a dedicated trainer. The programme covers health and safety, print production, quality control, workflows and problem solving.
Successful completion will lead to a nationally recognised Level 3 Print Technician qualification.Training Outcome:Upon successful completion, the apprentice may be offered a permanent position within our production team. With further training and experience, there are opportunities to progress into skilled Press Technician, Print Finishing Technician, Senior Operator or Team Leader roles.

Your training will be on a one-to-one basis, you will be mentored by an experienced member of staff, who will guide you in every aspect of your role.
No experience is needed, but we are seeking an individual with a strong can-do attitude, self-motivation and the ability to work as part of a team.
You will need to be an enthusiastic and committed individual who has an excellent attention to detail and has good problem-solving skills.
You will learn to set up and run an array of different machines, guided by experienced staff members. Initially, you will concentrate your time learning and perfecting your skills on a Bobst 126, which is the largest format hot foil machine in the UK.
The job role will include the following:
1. Preparing the machine for production
2. Running the press.
3. Maintaining quality standards
4. Completing maintenance tasks on the machine.
5. Completing paperwork.
6. Understanding Health & Safety.
Training tasks will be assigned each day. These tasks will give you an in-depth knowledge of how to prepare, run and manage each order. Training:Your training will be both practical and theory-based.
You will be studying for a Level 3 Print Technician qualification.
The training will last for 30 months and will cover all aspects needed to become a fully qualified machine operator.
Training for the practical and theory elements will take place on site at your place of work.Training Outcome:After training is completed, the goal would be to establish yourself as a machine operator, to continue to develop the knowledge you have gained while training and learn all the different machines within the factory.
Once you have a strong understanding of the processes and machinery, there is a potential to progress into a team leader position.
