Are you an experienced Quarry Manager, Assistant Quarry Manager or Section Manager looking for your next challenge?
We're recruiting for a key operational leadership role within a well-established sand and gravel operation in Cheshire. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the quarry, leading the operational team while driving safety, production and continuous improvement across the site.
This isn't simply a supervisory role. You'll become the Operations Manager's right-hand person, taking ownership of quarry performance and stepping into full site leadership whenever required.
The Role
Working within a busy sand and gravel operation incorporating dredging, processing and drying, you'll play a key role in ensuring the quarry operates safely, efficiently and to the highest operational standards.
You'll be responsible for:
Leading the day-to-day operation of the quarry.
Driving an industry-leading health, safety and environmental culture.
Managing production performance, quality and operational efficiency.
Leading, coaching and developing operational teams.
Working closely with maintenance to maximise plant reliability and minimise downtime.
Managing budgets, KPIs and operational reporting.
Ensuring legislative and company compliance across the site.
Supporting continuous improvement and automation initiatives.
Acting as the senior operational leader whenever the Operations Manager is away.
We're Looking For
You'll ideally come from an aggregates, quarrying, mining or heavy industrial processing background and have experience leading operational teams within a production environment.
You'll have experience in:
Quarry or heavy industrial operations.
Health & Safety leadership.
Managing production and operational performance.
Team leadership and staff development.
Fixed plant and production processes.
Continuous improvement.
Working within safety-critical environments.
Experience within sand and gravel operations would be advantageous but is not essential.
Recognised quarrying or health & safety qualifications such as IOSH, NEBOSH or Quarry Technology are welcomed, although practical operational experience will also be considered.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complete work functions within Chemical production operations.
Responsible for the quality blending of finished products and the bulk, drum, and pail packaging of products.
Full understanding of Chemical Hazards specific to area assigned to, including PPE.
General forklift duties.
The core responsibility for blending and packaging of products demands the use of mechanical and electrical equipment such as pumps, mixing equipment, and automation control systems.
Completion and compliance of all safety initiatives and certification requirements including all near miss and incident reporting.
Accountable for the data entry of production tickets, good receipts, and shipping documentation.
Daily inspection of work area and monthly document reporting. Ensure that a clean organized work environment is maintained at all times.
Assist with physical inventory counts and processes.
Compliance with all applicable ISO requirements.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred, 2-year Process Technology Degree.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Preferred, Manufacturing, Chemical or Technical experience 2+ years.
Preferred, Forklift experience certified.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Good Attendance record.
Able to Work 12-hour shift: Dupont Schedule, Day and Graveyard rotation.
