This is a permanent nights position – 4 on 4 off, 6pm to 6am. The shift is fixed, so there is no rotation onto days and no constantly resetting your sleep. You will know your pattern well in advance and can plan around it, and the four-day blocks leave your daytimes free for the things that are impossible to arrange around a standard working week.
The site runs a fast-paced operation to strict quality and hygiene standards, so uptime matters. You will be trusted to make your own calls on breakdowns and to bring ideas forward on how the plant can run better – this is not a role where you simply wait for the next job to land.
The position is mechanically biased with welding and fabrication skills highly valued. Electrical capability is not essential, but any electrical fault-finding experience will be a genuine advantage.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Process Engineer (Jr) provides engineering support to the assigned program and/or area to ensure the product is processed in accordance with customer and division quality requirements while maintaining production flow. Charged with developing and maintaining systems to assure that all products manufactured by the plant meet customer specifications and achieve superior reliability levels. Responsible for investigating and implementing new process technology at the plant. The Process Engineer (Jr) is responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and optimizing the plant. This position will oversee the QC Lab area and all QC activities. This position is responsible for influencing the development of preventative maintenance programs at the facility and will have a significant role in capital improvement plans while assisting in work area design, plant layout, visual control and metric implementation, material flow, process tracking, and communication.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives of the finished product
Participate in plant metric reporting
Coordinate quality control objectives and activities as detailed in the facility site plan to resolve any production problems that may occur, maximize product consistency, and minimize cost
Prepare estimates of production costs and production progress reports for management
Design measurement and control systems for chemical plants based on data collected in laboratory experiments and in pilot plant operations
Use SAP to monitor production/business functions
Recommend modifications to current processes and equipment; document and follow up with process engineers responsible for the modifications
Work with the plant engineers and maintenance to influence the direction of preventative maintenance best practices
Support a high-performance results-oriented culture and maintain high standards of safety and compliance
Provide technical and operational leadership for equipment and facility maintenance and improvements
Deliver disciplined project management and product development assistance
Regular review of batch first pass yield, felt production quality, distressed, obsolete, scrap, and returned material
Troubleshoot batch and raw material issues
Assist in the identification of capital requirements for the facilities' annual capital plans and budgets
Help investigate equipment failures, difficulties, and deficiencies
Interface with leadership, operators, and maintenance to ensure continuous improvement and continuous production
Develop and streamline their critical metrics and assist when necessary
Assist in the development of site metrics and KPI's
Perform a job in accordance with all Tremco safety policies and procedures

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in mechanical or electrical engineering

The role requires someone who is technically hands-on, confident managing engineering operations and able to maintain high standards of service delivery, safety and building performance.What You'll Be DoingTaking responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of mechanical and electrical maintenance across the site.Supervising and supporting the engineering team, ensuring works are completed safely and to the required standard.Managing planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and corrective works through the site's CAFM system.Monitoring plant and building services performance, identifying faults and ensuring remedial works are progressed.Managing compliance documentation, site logbooks, audits and statutory maintenance requirements.Managing and coordinating specialist subcontractors, including reviewing completed works and ensuring recommendations are actioned.Supporting the operation and maintenance of electrical distribution, UPS, generators, HVAC, cooling, BMS and control systems.Managing permits to work and ensuring safe systems of work and Health & Safety procedures are followed.Carrying out regular plant inspections and monitoring the condition and criticality of site assets.Supporting the planning and management of major works, shutdowns and critical engineering activities.Acting as a key point of contact for clients, occupiers, contractors and other site stakeholders.Supporting emergency response activities and coordinating the engineering team when required.Reviewing plant and system performance and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and improved energy performance.Supporting the Contract Manager with reporting, technical documentation, compliance and overall service delivery.Ensure contractual requirements, KPIs and service levels are consistently achieved.HoursMonday – Friday – 08:00 – 17:00What We're Looking ForRecognised apprenticeship, Level 3, HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.Previous experience working as a Maintenance Supervisor, Engineering Supervisor, Lead Engineer or similar within a commercial FM environment.Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services.Good understanding of PPM, reactive maintenance and CAFM systems.Experience working with BMS and building control systems.Knowledge of electrical distribution, UPS, generators, HVAC and cooling systems.Experience managing engineering teams and specialist subcontractors.Strong understanding of Health & Safety, compliance and permit-to-work procedures.HV / Authorised Person experience would be advantageous.Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.A proactive, technically strong engineer who is comfortable taking ownership of site engineering operations.....Read more...
