The role of a Logistics Apprentice within BAE Systems Submarines involves working across a variety of different areas within Logistics and Inventory Management to ensure the vital supply of materials and services to support our various customers with an ultimate aim to support our operational programs.
A significant proportion of the logistics apprenticeship framework concentrates on developing people in two main areas, Warehousing & Satellite Build Support Stores. Warehousing placements sees individuals learn key principles around facilitating deliveries, Manual Handling principles, appropriate storage techniques, Stock rotation, packaging methods and housekeeping cleanliness. Satellite Build Support Stores placements are a more customer centric role close to the build line providing continuous support to our operations colleagues to ensure the correct material is delivered at the right time to support the submarine build programme. This framework across the two areas provides apprentices with a huge amount of variety whilst continuously allowing growth in a plethora of different skills.
This apprenticeship is one ideally suited to enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working as part of a team and have excellent communication skills. It provides hands on experience, in a live environment whilst delivering specific logistical training such as vehicle & manual handling including forklift truck, crane and slinging with on the job coaching & mentoring. In addition to this there will also be opportunities to gain a knowledge and understanding of the of the submarines specific Transport fleet and some of the more niche teams including elements of government furnished equipment.
The scheme ensures that all of the mentioned placements provide you with a breadth of knowledge of the entire function, as well as gaining an understanding of the importance of cross functional collaboration as you experience exposure to experts in the field.

Investigate the allegations made against policyholders, and to provide detailed advice and recommendations on policy and legal liability.Collate all relevant information, photographs, statements and documentation, to ensure that liability arguments are supported and sustainable.Identify fraud risks and concerns.Maintain proactive contact with all parties involved in the claims process and deliver results within agreed service standards.To undertake litigation management where appropriate.Ensure all databases, files and correspondence are correctly maintained providing a clear history of events, actions and explaining quantum assessment.

Assisting with the development and implementation of Pupil Passports, Support/Behaviour Plans, Risk Assessments, Personal Care and Therapy Care programmes
Assisting in the integration of children with special needs into the mainstream
Facilitating the pupil’s development and skills in the use of resources including IT
Planning and organising activities for children and supporting teachers in the completion of assessments and other pupil records
Encouraging pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by teachers
Setting challenging and demanding expectations and promoting self-esteem and independence
Attending training and working alongside internal and external professionals such as psychologists and therapists
Tracking the progress of pupils using available data. Monitoring the impact of interventions, sharing this with the SENCO Team and other professionals
Supporting individual/group work across the curriculum to raise levels of achievement
Delivering pre-planned programmes of work and support delivery of interventions
Liaising with teachers and other staff to obtain, exchange and record information on pupils in accordance with school policy
Attending staff meetings and appropriate training sessions as required
Assisting in the development and preparation of curriculum materials
Supporting EHCP pupil’s as their keyworker and updating paperwork accordingly
Other general duties and tasks that may be reasonably requested by the Head Teacher
Training:The apprenticeship training will be delivered in the workplace, as you will receive visits from a college assessor. The apprenticeship will also include a proportion of 20% Off The Job Training and a robust programme of apprentice training provided by St Michael’s C of E High School.Training Outcome:This apprenticeship is a fixed term 18 - 21 month contract, and at the end you will gain a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification.
