Job Overview:
Integra Education are seeking a dynamic and experienced Curriculum Leader to join our team based in the Leeds area. The Curriculum Leader will be responsible for developing and implementing educational strategies and materials to enhance the learning experience.
You will be working as part of a teaching team for a child who receives his education at a farm. It is a picturesque farm, providing an idyllic and nurturing backdrop for both a unique and enriching learning environment for the child.
The successful candidate will deliver Maths, English, PHSE, Occupational Studies, Geography and History and Environmental studies sessions to the pupil in a real-life context, weaving these subjects into daily farm activities. We appreciate that no candidate will be able to deliver all these sessions, but able to deliver more than one is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching Maths and English: Utilize the farm as a holistic educational setting, seamlessly integrating Maths and English into daily farm activities whilst working with a child to provide personalized and effective education.
Teaching Geography, History and Environmental Studies: Weave elements of Geography, History and Environmental Studies sessions into daily farm activities, with the farm team. Gather evidence of learning throughout the day against the portfolio criteria, updating the portfolio daily.
Lesson Planning: Develop and implement a customized curriculum aligned with the child's needs, interests and abilities. Gather evidence of learning throughout the day against the portfolio criteria, updating the portfolio daily.
Inclusive learning environment: Collaborate with the teacher and farm team, and deliver lessons in a real-life context, creating an immersive and engaging learning environment.
PSHE: Deliver aspects of Key Stage 2 and 3 PSHE curriculum.
Occupational Therapy: Build underdeveloped systems
Complex needs: Utilize your expertise in working with children with complex needs, weaving speech and language therapy into the real-life activities on the farm. You will be supported by a speech and language therapist.
Requirements:
PGCE with QTS
Proven experience delivering Maths and English to KS3 or Functional Skills Level 1,2,3 and 4.
Able to comfortably maintain physical activities throughout the day and throughout the weeks on the farm.
Be able to translate academic principals into real life scenarios in the moment.
Proven skills and consistent experience working with children with complex needs including speech and language communication.
Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting the diverse needs of the child.
Desirable:

Proven experience delivering Key Stage 2, 3 and 4 Maths
Possess the occupational experience to assess Level 1&2 English
Experience working with children from whom English is a second language and who have a speech and language disorders
Experience with intensive interaction in older children
Experience and training working with children with attention deficit
Experience working with children with a spiky profile
Demonstrate a sound understanding if Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), early life trauma and neglect.
