THE CANDIDATE
You will need to have good technical skills to provide leadership to your team.
You must be able to take responsibility for technical and commercial matters.
You will have excellent communication skills to be able to deal with other professionals and contractors as well as get involved in networking and strengthening client relationships.
You will be able to delegate workload, monitor deliverables, help train more junior engineers etc.
You will do site visits, surveys and inspections associated with all geotechnical works.
You need experience of slope engineering, ground movement assessments, infrastructure design and regeneration, ground remediation, earthworks and more.
Experience and good knowledge of health and safety risks essential.
You must be up to date with UK codes and construction methods.
Knowledge and experience of geotechnical design software to include Slope-W, Wallap, the Oasys suite of geotechnical software and Plaxis.
A full UK driving licence is required along with your own vehicle to enable you to attend meetings and get to sites, some of which may be fairly remote.
Salary is negotiable but likely to be between £80000 and £90000 per annum and there is an excellent package of company benefits.

You will work on a range of projects doing flood risk assessments, drainage and highways.
You will do design, report writing, calculations, specifications, drawings and Civils 3D models plus do site visits, surveys, inspections etc.

THE CANDIDATE
You will need to have the following:-
You must have a BSc or MEng or BEng in Civil Engineering.
You should be IEng qualified with the Institution of Civil Engineers or equivalent or you may already be chartered with ICE.
You need to have several years working as a Civil Engineer for a firm of consulting engineers.
You need good all round civil engineering and infrastructure experience having worked on flood risk assessments, drainage and highways projects.
You must be up to date with the various UK regulations including Manual for Streets, DMRB and Design and Construction Guidance.
You need to have experience of working closely with highways authorities and similar.
Some experience in the use of InfoDrainage and Autodesk Civils 3D or similar is required.
Some experience of the preparation & submission of applications to statutory bodies & water companies for Section 104/106/185/50 agreements, do Land Drainage Consent applications and FRAP & EA Environmental Permits etc.
You will do site visits and attend meetings with architects, planners, engineers, local authorities etc.
You will ideally be working towards becoming chartered or be keen to do so and my client will give you good support towards chartership.
A U.K. passport and driving licence is required as you will need to be able to get National Security Vetting CTC / Level 1B clearance.
Salary is negotiable between £40000 to £65000 depending on your level of experience and qualifications plus pension and other benefits.
