Working days Monday to Friday, you will be responsible for the mechanical fitting of ancillary equipment onto HGV vehicles, the work is both varied and interesting, to include:
Working with vehicle chassis fitting component parts
Installing hydraulic / pneumatic systems, Power take offs, gear boxes and pump systems
Being able to weld would be an advantage, but not essential
Working upon both standard and bespoke projects to include the development of new systems and ways of working, as part of a team

About the role of Mechanical Fitter

Key Responsibilities:

Work with engineering supervisor to ensure that all mechanical based project plans, improvements, repairs and shutdowns are performed to the appropriate standard / timescales.
Identify appropriate repairs / upgrades and routine maintenance requirements are undertaken to maximise and maintain plant availability and efficiency.
Contribute as required to the scoping and installation of capital projects including the provision of labour, supervision of contract labour, technical / process data and thorough commissioning, snagging and hand over of installed equipment.

Minimum of two years industry experience

- Up to £65k Basic + Bonus + Overtime

Our client, who are a busy Bodyshop group are currently looking to expand their team with the addition of an experienced MET Technician in the Whetstone area.
Key MET Technician / Strip Fitter Roles and Responsibilities:
- Removing and refitting parts to ensure body repairs are to a very high standard
- Dismantle and rebuild vehicles as instructed
- To report unseen damage, absent from estimate as soon as its identified
- 4 wheel alignment, Suspension work, GEO, diagnostics and all mechanical work
Ideal Requirements as a MET Technician / Strip Fitter:
- Have Previous experience as an MET Technician / Strip Fitter
- ATA/NVQ is advantageous but not essential
- Hybrid Trained
- ADAS Accredited
