The Technician Team supports the teaching and learning across the department, setting up and clearing away experiments, and ensuring resources are available. More specifically, the daily responsibilities are:
To ensure students and teachers have the relevant materials and equipment which will assist their learning, deal with student requests and any last-minute changes.
To prepare apparatus, chemicals and stock solutions for all science lessons as requested by teachers, schemes of work and worksheets, on a day-to-day basis, washing and storing glassware, etc., as and when required.
To arrange and collect items from various outlets, e.g. hearts, lungs, maggots, plants, buy basic chemicals needed, e.g. sugar, salt, batteries.
To assist in the setting up of databases, re-planning of department resources, recommending improvements in the replacement of materials and assisting in deciding appropriate action, often when minimal information is provided.
To assist in researching new and replacement equipment and materials, taking telephone calls from suppliers and contractors, ordering supplies, recommending improvements and dealing with queries where able to do so to help the Science department meet curriculum requirements.
To ensure the setting up and clearing away of resources, equipment and materials used is carried out correctly, reducing potential injury and inherent hazards to the students, teachers and yourself. This will sometimes involve working with acids and hazardous items (associated with science labs), and strict handling procedures must be adhered to at all times, especially when clearing up any spillages.
To be accountable for the safe and correct storage of equipment, chemicals and other supplies in accordance with Health & Safety guidance. Equipment must be monitored and checked, and be suitable for class use. Plants must be cared for, ready for experiments and observations, and stock control on all equipment.
To arrange for the disposal of biological and chemical residues and other waste as laid down by Health and Safety Codes of Practice, carrying out routine safety checks on apparatus and materials as necessary.
To support the teacher in the classroom and when visiting another school or local science groups, and occasionally help students with their projects.
To mentor and provide guidance for new members of staff.
To undertake training as and when required.

The accredited training will be delivered by Loughborough College.
Protected study time will be given and full support from your colleagues. You will also have one-to-one learning sessions with your tutor.
You will be assigned a mentor and a learning buddy to help you to succeed, as it is really important to us.
On successful completion of your studies, you will achieve the level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship.
Training Outcome:The in-school team is excellent, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn from some superb technicians on site.

Satellite Hazardous Waste Accumulation
Production tank/Cleaning/filling
1. Production Quality Lab Technicians may have to dispose of product samples, line flush, off-spec product, or expired product retain samples. This waste material is transferred to the hazardous waste satellite accumulation drum.
2. Production workers clean equipment and tanks pre-rinse, wipe, scrub, and final rinse surfaces using wash solvent, brushes and rags. Dirty solvent is transferred to the satellite accumulation area.
3. Transfer used wash solvent to the satellite accumulation drum or tank.
4. Ensure hazardous waste storage or accumulation containers remain sealed except during the addition or removal of waste.
5. Ensure Hazardous Waste storage containers are clearly labeled "Hazardous Waste."
6. Care must be exercised when introducing waste into the satellite accumulation drum. Do not drop on floor or area. In the case of any spilled material, spills or drops shall be cleaned up immediately.
7. When 55 gallons has accumulated, the satellite accumulation container must be moved to a permanent hazardous waste storage area within 3 days and relabeled "Hazardous Waste."

Key Responsibilities of the Graduate Quality Assurance Engineer will include:
Maintain and govern the ISO 9001:2015 management system, ensuring effectiveness through structured auditing and compliance with customer and legislative requirements.
Monitor and verify consistent implementation of quality policies and practices, including compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and customer specifications.
Work collaboratively within a multi-functional metallurgy and quality team, supporting project delivery and ensuring robust quality governance.
Drive continuous improvement of metallurgy processes, systems, and SOPs in line with national, international, and customer standards.
Conduct and support material and component verification, including interpretation of certification (chemical analysis, heat treatment, NDT, coatings, etc.).
Manage non-conformance processes (NCRs, SDRs, SAP reporting), ensuring traceability, defect control, and timely resolution of quality issues.
Support supplier quality, documentation, KPI reporting (including COPQ), and cross-functional communication, contributing to operational performance and compliance.
For the Graduate Quality Assurance Engineer role, we are keen to receive CV’s from candidates who possess:
A basic understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and relevant quality standards
Recently graduated with a BEng in Material Science or similar
Capability in quality inspection and verification of metallic materials and components.
Ability to interpret material certifications, engineering drawings, and technical specifications in line with international standards.
Good IT, communication, and cross-functional working skills, with understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, NDT, welding, and assembly.

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Maintenance Intern to support a structured maintenance inventory improvement project within our food production facility. This role will focus on organizing and validating maintenance spare parts while gaining hands-on experience with our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The intern will work closely with maintenance and production teams to improve inventory accuracy, equipment data integrity, and overall operational reliability in a regulated food manufacturing environment.
KEY DUTIES & MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct physical inventory counts of maintenance spare parts, critical components, and consumables
Organize and label storeroom inventory in alignment with food safety and plant standards
Reconcile physical inventory with CMMS and purchasing records
Assist with cleaning and standardizing asset and parts data within the CMMS
Support development and updating of preventive maintenance (PM) schedules
Help build and verify Bills of Materials (BOMs) for production equipment
Identify obsolete or excess inventory and support optimization efforts
Collaborate with maintenance technicians to verify equipment information and parts usage
Document inventory control and CMMS processes to support long-term sustainability
Record operational and production data on specified forms
