Media Planning & Strategy
Develop strategic media plans across digital and traditional channels, ensuring alignment with client objectives
Use audience insights, competitor analysis and industry trends to shape recommendations.
Balance brand awareness and performance marketing goals, tailoring strategies to different campaign phases
Media Buying & Negotiation
Negotiate and secure cost-effective media placements while maximising added value.
Work closely with publishers, networks, and platforms to identify new opportunities and secure first-to-market deals.
Ensure all media buys align with budget allocations and performance KPIs.
Performance Analysis & Reporting
Use analytics tools to measure success, identify trends, and inform future strategies.
Lead post-campaign analysis, evaluating effectiveness and making recommendations for improvement.
Stakeholder & Client Engagement
Present media strategies, rationale, and performance updates to clients in an articulate and confident manner.
Act as a trusted advisor, keeping clients informed about industry trends and emerging media opportunities.
Work closely with creative, content, and data teams to ensure media plans align with campaign messaging and goals.
Training:The apprentice will complete 6 hours of off the job training each week.

Support the team in analysing agency performance data and creating dashboards in tools like Excel and Salesforce
Help coordinate and deliver training content to external agency partners using Virgin Atlantic’s brand voice
Shadow account managers on sales calls and agency visits, gaining insight into client engagement and commercial strategy
Track training engagement, support feedback collection, and help identify areas for improvement
Maintain CRM updates and assist with tagging and tracking key opportunities
Work alongside Sales Analysts on reporting, insights, and simple forecasting projects

The course runs for 24 months at our Crawley, West Sussex, VHQ

Develop engaging, culturally sensitive content that prioritises sexual health awareness, combats stigma, and fosters emotional resilience among local populations.
Champion accessibility by ensuring online platforms deliver high-quality, inclusive health information and intuitive signposting to vital services.
Provide expert design and graphics support for staff creating printed resources, environmental media, and digital assets that resonate with diverse audiences.
Collaborate closely with local health providers to maintain up-to-date, accurate directories of sexual health, mental health, and wellbeing services for seamless user access.
Support the development and implementation of Leeds’ sexual health digital engagement strategy, aligning with regional health priorities and community needs.
Ensure all digital content (websites, social media, campaigns) remains comprehensive, up-to-date, and evidence-based.
Expand reach across priority platforms (e.g., Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Grindr) to engage underserved and most at risk populations.
Train and empower staff/volunteers in leveraging digital tools for health promotion, including best practices for audience engagement.
Collaborate with Leeds-based health providers to streamline service signposting and improve cross-agency referral pathways.
Spearhead the creation of multimedia content (podcasts, vodcasts, TikTok/Instagram Reels) to drive awareness and education.

Actively contribute to team meetings, supervision sessions, and Team focus days.

Training:Please note that this is a work-based Degree Apprenticeship with block delivery offered by our training provider, Leeds Trinity University.
This Digital Marketing Degree Apprenticeship course is a 36-month programme that leads to a full degree and certification, providing exemptions for further study after completion. We are running it as "block face-to-face delivery", with workshops lasting two days at a time, accounting for around 9 days each year.
