JOB PURPOSE:
New Product & Design Engineer will have the responsibility for design, development and testing of application of new product concepts for our new technology development and existing products. You will work closely with Marketing, Product Management, Manufacturing, and R&D to ensure that the designs meet market needs, cost targets, and production requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work independently to initiate innovative and functional product designs and manage the design projects related to new product development across all Rust-Oleum product categories. Participate in research of internal and external voice of customer meetings, analyze customer needs and insights, and translate them into value-added design solutions. Design, prototype, and test product design to ensure quality, functionality, durability, manufacturability and correlate chemical and physical material to consumer application and use, cost, safety and environmental impact. Work closely with Marketing, Product Management, Manufacturing, and R&D teams to ensure that the designs meet/exceed market/product needs, cost targets, and production requirements. Identify and select materials and components to meet design objectives. Identify, assess and select potential 3rd party design and /or manufacturing partners, and act as our project manager liaison with selected firm(s), travel to production facilities to evaluate processes and ensure compliance and quality to the standards. Develop and perform competitive assessments and analyses Act as the "thought and team leader' for the business regarding product delivery system and packaging design. Create and/or guide engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances for designs.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of bachelor's degree in Material and Mechanical Engineering or other related fields. 2 or more years of hands-on experience in new product development and tooling design, prototyping, and testing of mechanical systems with proven track record of successful new product design and development, preferably in durable consumer markets Extensive knowledge of product design, materials selection and manufacturing processes and direct experience working with a broad array of materials, preferably for various wipes of tools and delivery systems for coatings, cleaners and other consumer and industrial products. Excellent working knowledge of Computer Aided Design modelling concepts and software proficient with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks) for 3D part modeling, drawing, and assembly creation of the mechanical components Experience working with tooling manufacturers both domestically and internationally. A passion for design, engineering, problem solving, with critical thinking and creativity. Ability to work effectively with a cross-functional team from project concept through commercialization. Strong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills including good special acuity for design. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and presentation skills. Ability to travel as required.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial engineering 2+ years' experience in manufacturing environment. Six Sigma/lean manufacturing experience. Understanding of process control methods, flowmeters, level monitors, and other process controls within a batch manufacturing process. Ability to read and interpret process drawings (process flow diagrams and P&ID's). PLC with ladder logic analysis. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. PC usage with MS Office Suite (AutoCAD experience a plus), strong interpersonal skills, good communication skills both written and verbal.

As a Maintenance Technician Apprentice you operate in a modern manufacturing environment and be involved in fault finding and repair, planned maintenance and operating the mechanical equipment used to manufacture our products. As a Radiography apprentice, you will join a highly experienced team working across a number of manufacturing facilities. You will learn about radiography testing methods both on the job and through gaining personal certification in non-destructive testing methods. This role is approximately 80% practical and 20% desk based.
You will be involved in preparing work areas for radiography testing and carrying out Radiography in custom build enclosures and on-board submarines in build, as well as the analysis and interpretation of the results.
You will also assist and gain qualifications in additional Non-Destructive Examination technical skills such Dye Penetrant inspection. This method is used to detect surface breaking defects in steel and supplements Radiography inspection.

About The Company
My client, an established manufacturing business based in the Birmingham area, are currently looking to recruit an experienced Instrumentation Project Engineer to join their highly skilled Installation, Maintenance and Calibration Team.
The Successful candidate will take responsibility for the full life-cycle management of plant instrumentation projects from concept through to commissioning. Projects will include a variety of instrumentation and control systems including Level, Flow, Temperature, Pressure and Mass Instrumentation, PLC Controllers, Safety Instrumented Systems & Intrinsic Safety.
My client are potentially able to provide sponsorship for none UK nationals, currently based in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management of the full project life-cycle fron concept through to commissioning
Creation / Modification of instumentation drawings using CAD or similar software
Manage the modification of plant instrumentation systems via a management of change system
Maintain records on all items including modifications, repairs, specifications etc.
Candidate Requirements:
Hold a recognised Instrumentation Qualification (minimum HNC Level)
At least 7-10 years commercial experience, managing instrumentation projects within the chemical process or similar regulated industry sector (Pharmaceutical, Petro-Chem, Food or Oil & Gas)
Previous experience working on a Higher / Lower Tier COMAH site would be extremely desirable
Experience and strong understanding of the instrumentation aspects of DSEAR/ATEX compliance
In depth knowledge / experience of instrumentation documents including, Loop Drawings, I/O Lists, P&ID’s Network architecture Diagrams, Bill of Quantities, Equipment Schedules etc.
Good understanding of control, safety systems and functional safety standards IEC61508 & IEC61511 with the ability to manage proof tests along HSE guidelines
Good knowledge of Planned Preventative Maintenance, Total Productive Maintenance and Continuous Improvement would be highly beneficial
Experience of working to ISO9001 standards

As an Electrical Trials Technician Apprentice you will be responsible for the operation of various data capture equipment used in the Test and Evaluation Industry.
This role is wide-ranging, has both practical and theoretical elements and you will often be viewed as a multi-disciplined engineer, with knowledge of all electronic aspects of test and evaluation techniques.
We will help you develop into an Electrical Trials Technician that delivers safe, capable processes for optimised Test and Evaluation disciplines to specified standards.
Specific activities could include:
Working closely within a small but dedicated Test and Evaluation Trials team predominantly in a variety of outdoor High Hazard locations in the UK.
