The Level 3 Dental Nurse Apprenticeship offers employment within a dental practice with an accompanying assessment and skills development programme. It will develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours of the learner to operate competently in all aspects of clinical responsibilities.
It will also provide you with the relevant qualification to apply for professional registration as a dental nurse to the General Dental Council (GDC).
Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the End-Point Assessment.

What you’ll do at workThis is a site-based role where you will be placed on a project according to your location where there is an Engineer to mentor you through the first stages in your Civil Engineering career. Some of the day-to-day tasks are:
To provide sufficient information and set out for each gang on site to have continuity of work and inform Line Manager if this is not possible
To implement and comply with a safe system of work at site level and ensure operatives are briefed
To assist with site investigations
Communicating and liaising effectively with colleagues and the technical team, subcontractors, contracting civil engineers, consultants, co-workers and clients
To monitor the progress and quality of works on all sites against programme and specification
To ensure all works are signed off by the client prior to being accessed by follow-on trades
To liaise with subcontractors and provide them with sufficient information
To assist with risk assessments and writing method statements for all elements of work, assist in briefing the workforce and ensure that work is being carried out in line with RAMS on-site
To order materials in a timely manner for the site and ensure that waste is kept to a minimum

Clinical:

Prepare and maintain the treatment room, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
Provide support to patients by explaining procedures and addressing any concerns they may have.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with practice policies.
Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, including infection control protocols.
Manage appointments and scheduling to optimise patient flow within the practice.
Collaborate with the dental team to enhance overall patient experience and satisfaction.

Set-up and prepare the surgery for the type of patient and treatment planned before the start of each session.
Clean and sterilise all instruments/equipment and working surfaces to the required standards at the end of each session.
