A typical day might involve monitoring social media channels, responding to messages from the public, writing articles or content for the website and social media and collating data & recording it accurately.
The role will help support the wider team whilst giving you exposure to how the waste service operates and will include the opportunity to see first-hand how waste is managed and processed in Buckinghamshire.
Your work will focus on supporting projects that encourage residents to reduce, reuse and recycle more. It includes creating content to share with local residents about waste and recycling, this could be on our website or via social channels or include input into printed media such as magazine articles and leaflets. Other responsibilities will include attending public events, responding to resident queries, engaging with community groups, schools and external stakeholders and supporting the contracts team to deliver excellent services.
All this will develop in you an understanding of marketing techniques and communication tools and how these can be applied to waste management in a local government setting, and the role of communications in promoting good waste behaviours. This work can then be applied to real life campaigns and promotions and assist with delivering a key Council service. Alongside your day-to-day role you will also study to achieve the Level 3 Multi-Channel Marketer apprenticeship throughout the duration of your time with us. For this we’ll assign you time during your working week for study and assessments - which means no evening or weekend study is required.
Training:You will gain experience in a large organisation, whilst studying towards your nationally recognised qualification - Multi-channel Marketer level 3 qualification - with 20% time out of the workplace for study, training and assessments.
Your training will be a via a blended learning approach, with face-to-face visits in your workplace, on-line group workshops on a monthly basis, and hands on training within the workplace providing you with all you require to be successful. You will be given one day a week to complete your training. Training Outcome:We cannot guarantee a permanent position following completion of the apprenticeship; however, this is a great opportunity to develop transferrable business service skills. Employer Description:The role sits within the Strategic Waste Management and Enforcement service. The team work collaboratively to provide core Council services that cover waste treatment, recycling, reuse and recovery operations provided through a number of multi-million-pound waste contracts. Contracts the team manage include the Energy from Waste (EFW) contract, the Household Recycling Centre (HRC) contract and Green, Food, Bulky and Wood (GFBW) contract.
Collectively the team are involved in a wide range of work from enforcement to contract management, procurements, communications, internal business/systems improvements, infrastructure projects, behaviour change projects and customer service. The wider team also covers the management of fly tipping, unlawful encampments, and traveller community enforcement. Working across the team means there are plenty of opportunities for learning and development in both a formal and informal capacity. The day-to-day duties of a dental nurse can span across all areas of the practice and can include:
Reception, including answering the phone and greeting patients
Dealing with patient queries
Taking payments
Booking appointments and follow-ups
Sterilising and preparing equipment for dentists
Recording and dealing with patient records
Supporting patients' wellbeing and dental experience
Cleaning dental areas, including chairs
Managing stock of equipment and supplies
Any other duties to support the dentists and senior team to provide effective patient care

Dental Nurse (GDC 2023) Level 3
The training will take place at the dental surgery
Training Outcome:With experience, you may be able to move into jobs like team manager, team leader or dental practice manager.
With further training, you could become a dental therapist, helping a dentist carry out the more routine dentistry work. You could also become a dental hygienist, helping people to look after their teeth and gums.
You might decide to train as an orthodontic therapist, helping dentists to improve the look and position of a patient's teeth.
