Key Responsibilities for the Senior Production Engineer based in Bournemouth
Develop and maintain detailed production documentation including work instructions, process flows, PFMEAs, machine setup sheets, and TPM schedules

The Role
As a Quality Engineer, you will take ownership of quality assurance and continuous improvement activities across manufacturing operations, ensuring products consistently meet customer expectations and industry standards.
You will lead root cause analysis, manage non-conformances, and drive corrective and preventive actions across both internal processes and supplier/customer issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate internal and external continuous improvement activities
- Manage non-conformances, customer complaints, and returns (RMA process ownership)
- Carry out root cause analysis using tools such as 8D and 5 Whys
- Drive corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring issues
- Manage quality systems including NCR, ECN, and CAR processes
- Support inspection activities when required
- Develop and improve quality strategies aligned to customer and industry requirements
- Work closely with suppliers to support robust qualification and quality assurance processes
- Identify process improvements and implement best practice across manufacturing
- Ensure timely containment, investigation, and resolution of quality issues
- Support internal audits, documentation, and quality reporting
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in a manufacturing quality engineering role (5+ years)
- Strong knowledge of continuous improvement tools (5S, Kaizen, VSM, Pareto, Ishikawa, 8D, etc.)
- Structured and methodical approach to problem solving
- Strong understanding of quality and process management systems
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Confident working in a fast-paced engineering/manufacturing environment
- Strong communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Hands-on approach with a strong attention to detail
- Experience using CMM or Faro Arm and metrology equipment (desirable)
- Background in precision machining or machine shop environments
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (desirable)
- Travel to client sites may be required (planned in advance, expenses covered)
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative engineering team

This role sits within Living Environmental Systems (LES) a business division within Mitsubishi Electric-UK. The role supports the maintenance and repair of chillers, which are essential for keeping buildings cool. You will work with a very broad range of customers including large corporate commercial sites, production facilities, data centres and small offices.
Responsibilities include:
Gaining practical knowledge and experience through working alongside our qualified engineers
Conducting planned maintenance to prevent equipment failures and ensure chiller systems run efficiently
Responding to breakdown calls
Carrying out minor repairs and equipment upgrades
Actively supporting initiatives to reduce the number of customer call back service requests through improvements in equipment reliability
Supporting improvement and efficiency initiatives for the service department and wider organisation
Completing all site visit reports in a timely manner

The Role

This is a hands on, field-based role, focused on the service and repair of industrial cleaning equipment. You’ll be part of a supportive team, working closely with your Service Manager and Scheduler to deliver a high standard of service.
Location Requirements
This is a field-based role covering Nottingham and Sheffield surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities for the Regional Service Engineer
Service, maintain and repair a wide range of cleaning equipment
Diagnose faults and complete accurate service reports
Work closely with the Service Manager and Scheduler to plan your day
Maintain van stock and parts levels
Identify potential sales leads
Build strong, professional relationships with customers
Ensure work is completed to a high standard
What You’ll Need
Experience across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic or diesel-powered equipment
Background in plant hire, FLT, HGV, agricultural or similar industries (ideal)
Comfortable carrying out servicing, maintenance and fault finding in a field-based role
Able to work independently, with support from your Service Manager and Scheduler
Good IT skills and experience completing service reports
Strong organisational skills and ability to plan your daily workload
Full UK driving licence
Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays
Passport (preferred for possible training in Germany)
