As an Embedded Software Engineer you will have a background in Digital Signal Processing and a working knowledge of communications systems engineering. To successful candidate for the Embedded Software Engineer job will have a mixture of embedded/bare metal experience alongside an understanding of implementing communication signal processing algorithms such as DDCs, filters, FFTs.
Skills/Experience required for the Embedded Software Engineer job include:
- BEng/BSc or MSc/Meng within Engineering (Ideally Electronics, Telecommunication or similar)
- Experience in DSP Algorithm simulation and 5G development
- Experience in Bare Metal/ Embedded C
- Experience with RF a bonus
Experience of the following would be advantageous:
- Cross compilers (C++ ARM cross-compiler GCC Version 4.3.3)
- FreeRTOS experience
- Experience with typical embedded control peripherals (i.E. RAM, Flash, UART, PWM, A/D, CAN, I2C and SPI)
- Cortex M3/M4 Microcontrollers or similar.
- Experience of efficient implementation of communications DSP algorithms (such as FFT, filtering DDC etc.) In VHDL

Inspect and repair plant equipment, including but not limited to mechanical, welding, carpentry, electrical, instrumentation and controls to minimize downtime.
Document accurate maintenance activity records.
Clean and maintain assigned areas and tools to ensure proper functionality.
Participate in the continuous improvement process.
Report incidents, near misses, and any non-conformances through the appropriate channels.
Exemplify the expected values of organization including following policies and standard work procedures.
Give input on and coordinate maintenance supply purchases.
Perform Preventative Maintenance Program to ensure completion and accuracy.
Other projects and tasks assigned.
Crosstrain on other production functions to aid as business need dictates.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
One-year certificate from college, technical school or manufacturing training program.
One additional year of experience plus high school diploma/GED in lieu of higher education is acceptable.
Two additional years of experience in lieu of formal education is acceptable.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
No prior experience or training.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in 480-volt 3 phase electricity required (Preferred in some locations)
Capable of installing, programming, and troubleshooting PLC; AC/DC drive motors preferred
Ability to troubleshoot electric, air systems, and hydraulic systems
Knowledge of lockout/tagout, arc flash requirements, confined space entry and hot work permit
Ability to work overtime as needed; ability to meet deadlines

Mould Tool Preparation: Assist with mounting, removing, and preparing mould tools and auxiliary equipment to ensure efficient and safe production
Process Setup & Optimisation: Support the setup of moulding processes, monitor production performance, and adjust settings under guidance to maintain quality and efficiency
Troubleshooting: Identify and help resolve moulding issues such as flash, contamination, or slow cycles to minimise downtime and prevent reoccurrence
Documentation: Complete production records, tool change logs, and process adjustment reports accurately and in line with company procedures
Production Planning: Organise and prioritise tasks to meet daily production schedules, supporting minimal tool change times and smooth operations

Training:Over 22 months, you’ll devote a minimum of 6 hours of your working week on ‘off the job’ training.
