The Role We are seeking technicians who will be responsible for the technical uptime of our electric Remotely Operated Vehicles (eROVs) and USV’s within the European and African region. You will support project mobilisations, equipment installation, equipment calibrations, equipment maintenance and technical fault finding. Therefore, you will get the opportunity to work hands on with the remote equipment underpinning the transition from conventional survey to remote and uncrewed survey. Travel to project sites will be required for maintaining eROV systems, launch and recovery equipment, vessel mounted survey sensors and servicing of the vessel itself ensuring that components are operational to conduct investigation and inspections in accordance with the project deliverables. An apprentice in this area will learn the full operations of the section which includes sections such as administration and exports, supply chain handling, testing, inspection, and technical support roles. Mechanical Assembly (2 positions) Assemble and test machine tools and their components. Assembling and testing unit assemblies into the completed machine tool using various hand skills and laser checking equipment. Mechanical Spindle Assembly (1 position) Learning how to prepare, build and test spindles, you will use a manual Lathes and a grinding machine, processes include bearing preparation and fitting, becoming familiar with using a balancing machine, assembly to high accuracy using measuring equipment and a varied range of hand skills such as lapping, the spindles are then supplied to our general assembly production line. Electrical Assembly (6 positions) Wire and test machine tools and their components. Working on individual option looms that will be used in the final production of our machine tools, you will then progress to wiring and testing a range of CNC machines, to include PLCs, ladder diagrams and fault finding prior to machines going to our customers. There would be an opportunity for 2 apprentices to further develop a career in the Electrical Design Engineering Department.Training:Formal training is delivered at HWGTA, located in Worcester (WR4 9GN): Duration approximately 40-45 months. Year 1 includes 29-42 weeks off the job training to cover practical and theory aspects. Be aware of all the children in your room and support them in their explorations keeping them safe, keeping gates closed and inform them why we do this, even the youngest child will soak this information up if it is repeated often enough. 5. Liaise with parents on a daily basis as your confidence grows with support from your colleague’s. 6. Liaise with the Local Authority and other professionals associated with the setting as required with support. 7. Attend and have input on staff meetings. 8. Undertake domestic jobs within the setting, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleaning of equipment/toys/environment, hoovering up, sorting the washing out, washing paint pots etc out, emptying dishwashers and such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined from time to time by the manager or your colleagues. 9. Our Uncrewed Service Vessel (USV) operators and pilots will work predominantly from our new remote operations centre and our ROV & USV Site Technicians will predominantly work on site supporting the technical uptime of the Vessel, ROV and survey equipment. The Role We are seeking technicians who will be responsible for the technical uptime of our electric Remotely Operated Vehicles (eROVs) and USV’s within the European and African region. You will support project mobilisations, equipment installation, equipment calibrations, equipment maintenance and technical fault finding. Therefore, you will get the opportunity to work hands on with the remote equipment underpinning the transition from conventional survey to remote and uncrewed survey. Travel to project sites will be required for maintaining eROV systems, launch and recovery equipment, vessel mounted survey sensors and servicing of the vessel itself ensuring that components are operational to conduct investigation and inspections in accordance with the project deliverables.
