You’ll be assigned a mentor, who will oversee your development and training, offering valuable insights into career paths at Perenco.
Some of your activities on-site might look like the below:
Complete scheduled trade maintenance activities as per the maintenance management system
Maintenance to be completed using the company standards and procedures, minimising impact on production, and maximising plant availability
Raise relevant permits within the agreed time frame and generate new work requests to highlight plant and equipment failure
Manage and maintain Trade inventory of critical spares and stock equipment such that maintenance visits can be completed on schedule and equipment down time is minimised
Supporting project activity and working with vendors and sub-contractors as required
Develop and review operational and maintenance procedures
Comply with and pursue requirements of Change Management Policies e.g., Plant Modification Proposals
Employ Perenco Observation Safety Techniques (POST) to report unsafe acts
Training:Our Apprentices will undertake a Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician, Level 3 (A level). This will include a full-time period of practical workshop based ‘off-the-job’ training at HETA in Hull.

Our 3 Year Apprenticeship Programme will see you develop both technically and personally, with the majority of your first year spent at SETA training centre in Southampton completing some of the following training:
Foundational knowledge units including General Safety and Statutory Requirements
Specialist Electrical & Instrumentation training including:
Electrical Wiring & Maintenance
Programmable Logic Control

1 Day a week will be dedicated to the delivery of a BTEC Level 3 in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
Once you’re equipped with your foundation knowledge, you’ll join us on-site for Year 2 and 3 where you’ll work alongside our teams and start gaining valuable hands-on experience and training to further your understanding and start applying what you’ve learnt. You’ll be assigned a mentor, who will oversee your development and training, offering valuable insights into career paths at Perenco.Some of your activities on-site might look like the below:
Maintenance to be completed using the company standards and procedures.
Complete scheduled and breakdown maintenance activities on the following:
Safety Systems, Fire & Gas Systems, Flow Measurement Systems
Pressure, Temperature and Level Control
Gas Detection
DCS Systems
Hydraulic and Pneumatic Control Systems
Develop and review operational and maintenance procedures
Completion of Maximo work orders and ensure generation of new work requests to highlight plant and equipment failure
Raise relevant permits within the agreed time period to ensure that maintenance is completed in an efficient manner
Provide assistance for projects, working with vendors and sub contractors as required
Comply with the requirements of Change Management policies eg, Plant Modifications Proposals
Training:
Our Apprentices will undertake a Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician, Level 3 (A level)
This will include a full-time period of practical workshop based ‘off-the-job’ training at SETA in Southampton
You will also begin a technical certificate (depending on your prior attainments) where you will be required to attend SETA one day a week over two academic years. After your initial training at SETA, you will be working towards your End Point Assessment.Training Outcome:
By the end of the apprentice programme, you’ll have developed your technical abilities as a qualified engineer, built your networks, and be on your way with further study with a varied career path ahead of you. Our projects cover a wide range of skills, technologies, and platforms, touching software development, data processing, data analysis, visualisation, cloud and test automation. Day to day you will be designing, creating and testing brand new concepts in security software for customers both in the UK and overseas, anything from mobile apps to large data processing or cloud-based systems. You will learn Python, C++, C#, Objective–C or Java/JavaScript frameworks depending on your project area, as well as gaining an in-depth understanding of the software development lifecycle.
If you’re not proficient in any of these, don't worry we will help develop your skills but please bring a passion to solve problems through the application of science and technology.
Part of your role will also be researching cutting edge software solutions and working with specialists to innovate and stay ahead of the tech curve. Training:You’ll study for a Digital & Technology Solutions Level 6 Apprenticeship with Software Specialism. This is an apprenticeship degree course, meaning if you complete the course successfully, you’ll receive a degree from one of our university partners.
The degree course runs for four years and is a work-based learning degree, with block release attendance onsite at the University.

Accommodation will be provided for Year 1 whilst at college, this will be in facilitated living alongside your peers.

Working within a multi-skilled Maintenance team to safely operate and maintain the Bacton Terminal within the operational and maintenance procedures
Maximising the plant availability in the processing of gas received from our offshore fields
Plan and carry out preventative maintenance tasks to required standards and procedures, minimising impact on production
Perform breakdown repairs in a timely manner
Complete all weekly maintenance routines as defined in Maximo (Maintenance Management System) and ensure that maintenance routines are completed with the appropriate amount of detail
Ensure jobs are raised in Maximo to address all known defects. Order all required materials and where appropriate feed the job into the plan
Act as a Performing Authority and Isolating Authority as required
To assist with projects, working with vendors and sub-contractors as required
Ensure a clear and concise discipline handover is provided on each crew change
Management of spares and test gases to enable testing/calibration of gas monitors
Ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are always adhered to and actively promoted
