Manager, Private Capital
Job Description: Do you have excellent working knowledge of fund accounting practices and standards, and seeking your next opportunity? Our client is seeking a Manager, Private Capital to join their team based in Glasgow. In this role, you will be responsible for the set-up/on-boarding and subsequent ongoing accounting of Private Capital funds and leading a team. Skills/Experience: Excellent working knowledge of fund accounting practices and standards, ideally including IFRS, UK GAAP and US GAAP A recognised accountancy qualification (e.g. ACCA/ACA), or able to demonstrate competency through experience Excellent working understanding of various types of PE transactions Strong leadership and management skills and experience. Stakeholder management skills and client management experience. Understanding of wider Private Capital industry standards and regulations is desirable. Previous experience in Private Capital fund accounting preparation is desirable. Core Responsibilities: Assist with drafting the Service Level Agreements Assist in preparation and agreeing accounting reporting templates with client Assist with the review of fund documentation and Business Acceptance Committee documentation pertaining to the launch of new funds and provide comments as necessary Oversee and be actively involved in the day-to-day servicing of Private Capital fund clients and to ensure the fund is operating in line with the Service Level Agreement Oversee the reconciliation process for cash, stock, shares/units in issued and ensure that all breaks identified are cleared on a timely basis and in accordance with agreed KPI Involvement with external parties related to the fund including but not limited to Fund Manager, External Auditors, Transfer Agents, Tax Advisers, Custodian, Depositary, Board of Directors and other external service providers Review drawdown and distribution calculation in accordance with the fund documentation Liaise with internal and external auditors and manage the year end/interim audit process via a monitored timetable and audit requirement list Management point of contact for clients, auditors, trustees, custodians and other departments within the business. Develop internal and external client and stakeholder relationships. Plan and manage client, audit, trustee and regulatory visits. Oversight of team service delivery. Responsibility for performance and KPI reporting. About The RoleThe Support Worker will provide a structured, personalised resettlement service to every service user at Mildmay House. To seek to support service users who have experienced homelessness to move into their own homes in a planned and supported way.To offer advice, training, information and one-to-one/group support to help service users through this process. To supervise and support pupils undertaking teacher-designated activities in a group or on an individual basis and to assist their learning and development by: Clarifying and explaining instructions Reinforcing relevant aspects of the planned teaching programme, particularly literacy and numeracy Being sensitive to the requirements of pupils with special needs and encouraging their participation and independence Assisting pupils with the appropriate use of materials and resources, including ICT applications To support designated pupils with special needs through the delivery of appropriate aspects of the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) as directed by the relevant teacher and to contribute to reviews, if required To assist the teacher with the monitoring of pupils’ progress and the identification and preparation of appropriate materials and resources for teaching or display purposes To attend to pupils’ personal needs, including social and health training, hygiene and basic first aid. (This may include the administration of medicines by agreement and subject to any appropriate training being given) To contribute to effective team practice by attending and participating, as appropriate, in staff meetings and in-service training To assist with the support offered to parent helpers and students on work experience To contribute to the supervisory arrangements for pupils during break times and on out-of-school activities To promote and reinforce school policies, practices and procedures, including an awareness of child protection, and health and safety responsibilities The postholder will be expected to act as an adult role model and support school policies when dealing with students or visitors to the school Job context: Teaching Assistants provide valuable support to qualified teaching staff and can make a significant contribution to the education and well-being of pupils. Most schools will have several Teaching Assistants who will work with groups of pupils and/or support individual pupils with special educational needs Supervision and work planning: Activities will be directed by the relevant teacher. The Teaching Assistant will carry out the planned activities with individual pupils or groups of pupils either within the classroom or at some other location Problems and decisions: The postholder must exercise responsibility for the welfare and safety of pupils at all times, intervening where necessary to ensure safe and proper conduct The Teaching Assistant will be expected to respond appropriately to questions or challenges presented by the pupil(s) being supervised Contacts: Daily involvement with teaching staff, other support staff and pupils of the school Special needs work will normally involve occasional contact with LA staff, including psychologists or other specialists Contact with parents and other school visitors, including students on work placements Working environment: Most activities will be undertaken within school premises.
