1 To complete a programme of training conducted alongside the chosen training provider and Nottinghamshire Polices internal departments. As an apprentice you’ll become proficient with on-the-job learning with your employer where you will be released to study, equating 20% of off the job learning.

The Family Help Teams are newly set-up teams using the Families First model. These teams work with families from early help level through to high-end statutory involvement, including child protection and Children Looked After.
The Business Administration Apprentice will support the Family Help Teams and will be responsible for:
Providing day-to-day administrative support to the Family Help Teams for East and West, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Maintaining and updating electronic records and case management systems, ensuring information is accurate, secure, and compliant with data protection requirements.
Supporting the organisation of a panel, including sending invitations, preparing agendas, and taking minutes where required.
Handling incoming and outgoing communications, including emails, telephone enquiries, and post.
Working collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to ensure effective coordination of services.
Managing and organising filing systems (both electronic and paper-based) in line with organisational policies.

You will study towards the level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship qualification and will be practising the skills learnt in your day-to-day job.
Study will take place at South Essex College, who are based in New Road Grays. However, training will be mostly delivered online. A tutor will be allocated to you to support you throughout your qualification and meet with you regularly online.
You will be allocated 6 hours per week for off-the-job training. This will be within your paid working hours. These hours can be spread across the week and will be agreed between yourself, your line manager and your tutor.
Functional Skills Level 2 in English and maths, if required.
Training Outcome:
This apprenticeship prepares you for a variety of roles involving Business Administration. At the end of your apprenticeship, you will be supported to apply for suitable vacancies (subject to availability).

The duties will depend on your experience and training. Generally, you'll need to:

Training:SGS College will support apprentices to develop the full range of knowledge, skills and behaviours required for the Standard. The apprentice will be required to attend the Filton Campus of SGS College on a weekly basis, term time only.
Apprentices will receive comprehensive guidance to build their portfolio, and the College will also facilitate completion of a Paediatric First Aid qualification. Once on-programme learning is complete, apprentices will progress to the End Point Assessment, which includes a practical observation with a question-and-answer element, submission of a portfolio of evidence, and a professional discussion.
Full time apprentices will spend typically 18 months on-programme working towards the apprenticeship standard, with a minimum of 20% off-the-job training.

Being the nominated, ‘go to’ day-to-day payroll contact for a selection of our schools
Annual provision to each school of schedule of dates outlining deadlines for input data, date of initial run report to school for checking, last date for validation and changes, Bacs submission deadlines and pay dates
Processing standard payroll input such as adding new starters to the system, removing leavers (and producing P45s), entering overtime and absence return data
Calculating changes to salaries, including processing associated backpay or overpayment recoveries where necessary
Calculating sickness and family leave entitlements, including production of maternity/adoption pay schedules that are then provided Processing deductions in respect of nursery vouchers and other salary sacrifice arrangements
Processing scale point increments and implementing nationwide pay awards
Maintenance and upkeep of a ‘staff list’ database for each school where you are the nominated day-to-day payroll contact
