Job Description Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a Tax Assistant Manager on behalf of an established Chartered Accountancy based in Bury St Edmunds to join the team on a permanent basis. The role will involve a varied portfolio of clients who are based in East Anglia, the home counties, London and internationally and will predominantly relate to the private client and owner managed business sector. Main Responsibilities:
Managing own portfolio of clients ensuring that compliance deadlines are met and client service delivered at a high standard.
Taking on new clients via the firm’s website, email and phone enquiries, as well as through marketing initiatives.
Preparation of high value clients’ / complex self-assessment tax returns and related tax calculations for individuals and partnerships using the firm’s software (CCH)
Review of non-complex self-assessment tax returns and related tax calculations for individuals and partnerships prepared by junior members of staff.
Ensuring all digital tax compliance and permanent files are prepared with the firm’s guidance and kept up to date.
Provide support on planning projects and researching technical issues on tax advisory work. Drafting clear, concise and accurate advisory letters for review by a senior member of staff.
Training of junior staff and liaising with their line manager (as appropriate) including completing relevant feedback forms.
Candidate Criteria
Relevant professional qualification (CTA, STEP, ACA, ACCA)
Highly experienced in providing tax advice in a Private Practice environment
Experience of working with a portfolio of Private Client tax clients is essential
Experience of training/supervising junior members, checking work where necessary is highly desirable
Great communication skills with the ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team

As Packaging Manager, you will manage the day-to-day running of the packaging department and warehouse including both goods-in and goods-out, ensuring the customer's orders are packed and dispatched on time.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall packaging activities in the department, managing goods in and goods out, and dispatching orders to customers
- Ensuring full compliance with the company Quality Manual and procedures as well as to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
- Responsible for the purchasing and inventory of packaging materials and finished products
- Responsible for managing a team of packaging operators handling various packing, picking and dispatching activities
- Responsible for the warehouse, maximising space and safety
- Responsible for all current and new customers packaging-related requirements
- Co-operating effectively with Managers from other departments to ensure that customer orders are prioritised, and quality standards are met
- Proactively implement new continuous improvement initiatives to increase departmental efficiency
- Ensuring the work proceeds in a safe, orderly manner and the packing department, warehouse and dispatch areas are maintained in a clean and tidy condition
- Organising yearly end stock-take
- Deputise for staff reporting to the job holder as required
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in a packaging role
- Experience working in a fast-paced warehousing environment
- Solid understanding of goods-in and goods-out processes
- Previous experience in a FMCG environment - advantageous
- Experience in a managerial/supervisory role
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)

Working closely with the Divisional Manager, you’ll be maintaining and updating changes in the contract management system.

Monitoring the billing system and process, to reduce errors and exceptions.
Proactively chasing customer debts via telephone and email
Follow up on customer queries on invoices.
Assessment of creditworthiness of potential and existing customers including determining credit limits and payment terms.
Responsible for meeting targets in monthly receivables and keeping bad debt to a minimum.
Producing updates on overdue/disputed accounts.
Disputes review every week with escalation to the divisional manager.
Prepare ad hoc overviews on customer billing.
Ensure proper filing of customer communication & correspondence for audit purposes.
Dealing with accounts that have gone into liquidation including liaising with administrators.
THE PERSON:
Must have experience within a Sales Ledger, Billing Clerk or Credit Controller role, or similar.
Ideally with an AAT Level 2 or AAT Level 3, however, exceptional candidates without will be considered.
Experience of Credit Control and Sales Ledger / Billing is essential.
Confident around systems, strong communication skills and a ‘can do’ attitude is essential.
Competent with MS Excel with the ability to do Pivot Tables
