The Role of the Plant Manager??
The Plant Manager will be based in the companies Nottingham Plant.
Working for this market leading manufacturer of building products you will specialise in Asphalt.?
You’ll be working alongside an Assistant Manager and two multi skilled operatives.
As the Plant Manager you’ll be required to be hands on, mixing asphalt, operating the loading shovel and weighbridge.
Responsibility for your own Health and Safety and any visitors or contractors to your site.?
Responsibility for the accurate production of Asphalt?
Ensuring timely delivery of raw materials.?
Typical working hours are Monday-Friday 6am- 3pm and alternative Saturdays 6am-9am. Expectation to be flexible (i.e. breakdowns/maintenance)

The role is a high energy position involving many different tasks including: shovelling materials onto the production belt, cleaning the yard and site whilst managing the team and ensuring the plant runs smoothly operationally.
As well as the physical aspects of the job, there are a lot of technical responsibilities such as: batching in the control room, run by a computer system, ensuring production is running on time and managing stock levels.
The Plant Manager will be working directly with the planning office to meet customer order details.
High concentration level is required for this aspect of the position as measurements and fluidity of material is essential.
The Plant Manager will also be maintaining quality standards within the plant including machinery, health and safety - performance standards.
The working hours are Monday-Friday 7am-5pm and Saturday’s 7-12pm

Run floor scrubber and floor buffer as needed. Empty plant floor trash containers and advise maintenance manager when the trash dumpster is full. Empty all cardboard containers on the plant floor and take cardboard to the recycle dumpster outside the facility. Sweeps plant floor daily removing dust from the plant floor. Assists in cleaning up chemical spills as required. Follows safety guidelines in doing this task. Monitor supplies of floor cleaner, trash bags, and floor buffer scrubber pads, and makes maintenance manager aware of when these supplies need to be restocked. Understanding of analytical tools such as Gauge R&R Studies and Measurement Capability Studies. Experience with material testing and generally accepted laboratory practices. Very strong problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively communicate with various levels of the organization including manufacturing plants, technical and management personnel. Strong written and verbal communication skills. ASQ Six Sigma certifications are preferred.
