A growing Scientific Engineering organisation is currently seeking an Electronics Engineer to assist in the product development of new piezoelectronics technologies.
You will collaborate with a team of mechanical design engineers, software engineers, and scientists, making teamwork crucial. In this role, you will be the sole electronics specialist, so confidence in your abilities is essential.
Your responsibilities will include electronics design and PCB layout for the new piezoelectronics devices, as well as writing Embedded C software and using other software languages.
While having experience in piezoelectronics would be ideal, it is not a strict requirement. However, we do prefer candidates with experience in highly regulated fields such as Medical Devices, Biotechnology, Scientific Engineering, Pharmatech, or other scientific domains.

Field Service Engineer (Controls & Instrumentation) – Key Responsibilities
Complete controls, electrical, instrumentation site-based inspections, outages and upgrades which focus on the servicing and repair of gas turbines and power turbine assemblies in the 10 to 80 MW range along with Ruston Gas Turbine units TA and TB units.
Servicing and maintenance of gas turbines packages and their associated control systems. Typically, Control Logix5000, Allen-Bradley PLC-5 controls, including Bentley-Nevada 3500 vibration equipment. (Experience with the Rustronic MkII controls system would be an advantage.)
Carryout operational trouble shooting and fault finding on gas turbine packages and their associated control systems, experience with control of any associated rotating equipment, would be an advantage.
Service and maintenance of control networks and data transfer systems between control devices and DCS systems.
Interrogation of HMI systems during trouble shooting exercises including data gathering and event capture techniques.
Carryout instrumentation and equipment calibration and loop checking as part of servicing or commissioning turbine associated systems for pressure, level, flow, temperature and vibration equipment.
Carryout minor software and system parameter changes/adjustments on the controls systems to ensure efficient gas turbine operation.
Inspect, service and maintain auxiliary systems supporting gas turbines, including fuel and lubrication oil systems typically including pumps, valves, motors, and similar components. Electrical experience and knowledge would be an advantage.

Are you an experienced Building Services Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to come off the tools and learn how to use your wealth of knowledge to help others? Our well-established client provides a web-based software platform to make building maintenance schedules available to engineers in the field for over 800 subscribers including museums, libraries, councils, retailers, healthcare suppliers, and manufacturers. They have offices based in the North and South but the role is fully remote.
Due to continuous growth, they are currently looking for a Building Services Engineer to join their existing team and go through a 6-12 month training plan in order to become a Technical Author. The role involves the management and provision of advice to internal groups and members, the facilitation, writing and maintaining of technical publications, and the research and collation of Facilities Management and Building Services schedules.
This is a fully remote role and you can be based anywhere in the UK. Travel to one of their offices for meetings is required occasionally, usually once per quarter.
Key Duties (Once Trained):
- Research, development and writing of service and maintenance schedules
- Continually review technical and legislative/statutory requirements, revising and creating maintenance schedules accordingly to align with changes in the industry, including schedule and task descriptions, maintenance actions, maintenance intervals and time taken to carry out listed maintenance
- The provision of advice to subscribers, members and staff
- Keeping abreast of relevant developments relating to the technical and safety aspects of the building services sector
- Collation and analysis of issues, trends and updates based on this analysis
- Gather information from industry and manufacturers to enable maintenance tasks to be developed for new equipment and sector specific requirements
Key Skills / Experience Required - Building Services Engineer:
- Experience of working as a maintenance/installation engineer, or building services engineer

A leading biotech client in the Hertfordshire area are looking for Multi Skilled Engineers to join their engineering team on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role will take responsibility for reliable and compliant operation across the site services and equipment on the facility as well as providing engineering support and expertise within the engineering team on critical utilities equipment and systems including HVAC, Air Handling Units, BMS, EMS, Medical Gases, Compressed Air Systems.
Other responsibilities will include:
Support maintenance activities across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls
Ensure documentation and data is completed to statutory, H&S and GxP standards
Creating maintenance procedures (Including writing SOPs).
Responding to & diagnosing faults and repair of equipment breakdowns
Conducting risk assessment prior to any maintenance work.
Supporting fault finding, root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions on behalf of the team
Managing critical spares requirements, reviewing supply and storage needs
Managing specific maintenance and project activities
Successful candidates will ideally have experience working to GMP standards within a regulated environment with proven experience maintaining and supporting site critical equipment. You will be multi skilled and hold a professional engineering qualification i.e. apprenticeship qualified, HNC, HND, City & Guilds etc.

As a Principal Control Systems Engineer you will be responsible for the technical aspects of the design, development and testing of software for controlling powertrain components and associated equipment, focusing on delivering solutions to a high quality standard.
Responsibilities:
Own the design, development, test and documentation of the control code for various powertrain components such as including motors, inverters, chargers, DC-DC’s and vehicle/powertrain control units and the associated equipment (i.e. manufacturing and test equipment).
Define a standardised approach to the control architecture, following industry best practice and functional safety considerations.
With support from Functional Safety Engineers, specify the functional and safety requirements for the system and ensure alignment with other engineering functions such as Electrical Engineering.
As a Principal Control Systems Engineer you will lead the development of device drivers and algorithms for state estimation in vehicle control systems, optimising performance.
To develop fault management strategies appropriate for each application.
Documenting and maintaining the BMS Boundary Diagram, and BMS FMEA.
Define testing procedures for software related functions and supporting tests where necessary.
Working with cross-functional teams to ensure plans are in place for the delivery of supporting software and hardware, identifying resource requirements to maintain on time, on cost and on budget delivery.
Liaise closely with the mechanical and electrical engineering teams to ensure that designs are optimised at all levels, across all departments.
Perform calibration of sensors and instrumentation.
Develop strategies for thermal management of powertrain components.
Integrate vehicle dynamics functions into the vehicle control system code where necessary, such as longitudinal slip control, supported by code generated by vehicle dynamics and simulation engineers.
Support the selection of hardware and software capabilities, particularly control unit selection, I/O allocation, software tools/compiler requirements, etc.
Experience required:
Degree in Software / Hardware / Electronics / Electrical Engineering or other relevant Engineering degree
Experience in design and delivery of automotive powertrain control systems from design to launch/production in automotive or motorsport applications as part of an OEM, Tier 1, or consultancy.
Extensive knowledge of ICE & EV powertrain components and architectures.
A high level of competency with typical software coding tools and software validation tools such as Matlab, Simulink, C++, etc.
Familiarity with Functional Safety methodology and requirements.
Experience with developing vehicle control systems for ICE and/or electric vehicles
A good understanding of vehicle test and approval standards
