What is an Electrical Wholesaler?

The products you will be working with are used in domestic, industrial, and commercial settings, and are installed by contractors and electricians.
This Busy Edmundson Electrical branch is looking for a highly motivated apprentice to join our busy branch. After full training, responsibilities will include:

This Busy Edmundson Electrical branch is looking for a highly motivated apprentice to join our busy branch. After full training, responsibilities will include:
Managing stock in and out (to external clients)
Picking and packing
Store transfers & stock control
Completing the paperwork within the office
Raising quotations
Trade counter
Sales calls
Processing orders
Administration
Answering the telephone
Some heavy lifting will be involved with loading and unloading the vans
Training:Completing a Trade Supply Apprenticeship Level 2, consisting of:
Knowledge and Competence qualification in Trade Supplier at Level 2
End point assessment - Final test and observation
The vocational and academic training aspects are separated and delivered by separate teams. The vocational training and assessment is conducted, more often than not, on-site according to the employer's wishes.
Notice of dates is agreed well in advance of a site visit. Training and assessment are conducted both on and off-the-job, according to the needs of the course and the learner. Some of the key tasks will include but are not limited to the following:
Prepare surfaces (sanding, filling, cleaning)
Apply paint, varnish, and wallpaper
Mix paints and match colours
Use brushes, rollers, and other tools safely
Follow health and safety guidelines
Keep work areas clean and tidy
Assist experienced decorators on-site
Attend training sessions and complete coursework.
Training:
6 of your contracted working hours per week will be spent on training
Training will be covered by day release, as well as being in the workplace
Common forms of training include completing written assignments, meetings with your assessor, being mentored and shadowing other members of staff
Throughout your apprenticeship you will be required to keep an off-the-job training log for any training that you complete
You will complete the Level 2 Painting and Decorating apprenticeship for which you will receive either a grade Pass or Distinction
In addition if you don't have maths and English qualifications at grade C/4/Level 2 or equivalent you will be required to undertake Functional Skills alongside the apprenticeship, at Level 2 if you are 16-18 or if required by your employer if you are 19+
Once per week, term time only you will be required to attend East Sussex College's, Eastbourne campus, for day-release
In the college holidays you will go to the employer's instead unless you have booked Annual Leave.

Primary responsibilities:
Unloading scaffolding equipment at the site
Carry out scaffolding activities at the site in line with the Part 1 & 2 Scaffolding training and TWUK procedures
Fixing guard rails and safety netting
Complete scaffolding erection and then taking down the scaffolding after a job is finished
Tidy up equipment
Working as part of a scaffold team
Ensure that all relevant health, safety, environment and sustainable development requirements are adhered to
Any other duties commensurate with the job role
Ability to follow instructions
Great hand-to-eye coordination and a good level of physical fitness
An understanding of safe working practices

Liaise with customers to co-ordinate customs entries for the shipment of goods; full declarations both imports and exports, transition declarations (T1’s) applicable on exports, and CFSP frontier and supplementary declarations as required by the customer
Provide information to customers, freight forwarders, hauliers and DHL internal stakeholders in a timely and appropriate manner promoting excellent customer service and engagement
Ensure all documentation is completed to meet timelines, and process requirements
Ability to deal with critical requirements, and problem solve activities within processing timelines
Maintain all customs entries files both electronically and also hard copy files where required for certification and documents
Manage queries from the Global Service Centre (GSC) and also responses from HMRC and other UK Governmental Departments in terms of declaration responses
Sending and issuing data to the Global Service Centre (GSC) where applicable
Ensures that all interactions are compliant with DPDHL Code of Conduct and other compliance requirements e.g. anti-corruption
Contribute to the First-Choice continuous improvement program

Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end point assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement, the apprenticeships English and mathematics minimum requirement is Entry Level 3.
Allocation of an apprenticeship delivery coach who will carry out regular training.
