The role
Fugro are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to be based at our waterfront office at Portchester, Hampshire. The department specialises in offshore geophysical seabed and sub-seabed surveying for the renewables, unexploded ordnance (UXO), nearshore and utilities sectors across north-west Europe. As a Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment and systems within the Geophysical Department. The role will include mobilising and commissioning the systems onto survey vessels and supporting ongoing operations of the equipment. Tasks will include managing LOLER and calibration schedules of equipment, keeping repair logs, troubleshooting, repair and maintaining geophysical equipment on site and in the workshop as well as travelling to vessels to install, maintain and repair equipment. Supporting offshore staff remotely to assist with repairs. Communicating with suppliers and test centres to organise spares, repairs and testing. Managing associated administrative tasks.
Who we’re looking for:
Essential
5+ GCSEs and 2+ A-levels or equivalent level qualification.
Mechanical and/or Electrical skills and knowledge.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills along with the ability to fault find, test, repair and interrogate geophysical systems.
Able to work flexible hours and to travel when required.
Previous experience in a similar role.
Good knowledge of English language, verbal and written.
Proficient in use of MS Office applications.
Desirable
Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic winch motors and motor control systems.
Working knowledge of, and ability to work to marine mechanical standards.
Able to design and modify mechanical and hydraulic systems, documents and schematics using CAD.
Be willing to go to sea for short durations.

We are currently seeking a talented Battery Test Engineer to join our team in Milton Keynes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge battery technology within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
As a Battery Test Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Utilizing Vector & CanAnalyzer for communication with battery pack & associated assemblies.
Creating dashboards for the Operations team to interpret battery communication data easily.
Developing in-line and end-of-line battery verification processes & procedures.
Creating and verifying test scripts for module/battery pack cycling using NHR's & AV900/lynx.
Developing leak test processes/procedures for in-line & end-of-line quality checks using Sciemetric/Furnace controls/Infacon.
Performing software flashing of battery BMS and associated assemblies.
Identifying battery fault codes/failure modes through experimental work during the prototype phase.
Supporting battery teardown diagnosis post prototype testing.
Collaborating cross-functionally to define pass/fail criteria for in-line & end-of-line testing.
Working with the production/manufacturing site team to hand over test procedures/specs from the prototype location including best practice & lessons learned.
Developing Operations technician team in core test competencies and use of test equipment.
Defining hardware requirements for battery programs (including harnesses and test equipment).
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Proven experience in battery testing, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in Vector & CanAnalyzer for battery communication.
Experience with creating dashboards and test scripts.
Familiarity with leak test processes and software flashing.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to occasionally travel to off-site test sites during work hours.
Working Hours:
8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday (Some flexibility required to support production team)

Field based role - Customer facing position
Essential Qualifications / Experience:
Relevant white goods / domestic appliance engineering experience
Domestic ACS Gas Qualification (CCN1 / CKR1) would be an advantage
R600a / F-Gas Refrigeration Qualifications would be an advantage
Full Driver’s Licence

This is an exciting time to be joining this established business, who have developed an extensive track record of developing and supporting a range of innovative electro-mechanical products into the Commercial Aviation sector, including major aircraft manufacturers and operators world-wide.
As Workshop Supervisor / Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Maintenance, Service and Repair Workshop. This role would suit an experienced Service Engineer, Senior Service Engineer or Team Leader with previous experience of working within an Aviation Repair and Service environment.
Main Responsibilities:
Completion of all Repair, Servicing and Overhaul activity, management and resolution of potential issues and delivery of customer requirements.
Ensure all materials, resources, and facilities required to deliver the work on time are available and to the required standard.
Act as the first point of contact for customer enquiries and queries, ensuring all customer expectations are fully met and acted upon in a timely manner
Responsibility for ensuring full compliance with EASA/CAA/FAA Regulatory requirements, HSE legislation, and company procedures
Responsible for the delivery of agreed targets in the context of the Workshop facility, leading continuous improvement as well as the delivery of the financial plan to budget
Drive the financial performance of the workshop to maximise cost reduction and deliver productivity improvement
Provide overall leadership and direction in the setting, communicating and delivery of agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and Service Level Agreements.
Lead and coach the Service & Repair team, guiding them in their current positions and assisting with career development and training
Key Experience Requirements:
Previous Workshop / Operations Management experience gained with within the Aviation / Aerospace industry sector
Good understanding of Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic repair and/or servicing
Excellent trouble shooting and problem-solving skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
