Due to an increase in business and growth, my client is looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer who will be responsible for the design of automation machinery, as part of a dynamic and growing design team. Working alongside engineers and other industry professionals, to conceptualise, develop and enhance these solutions, whilst also contributing to the evolution of their processes
The Company
A company with in excess of 40 years experience providing bespoke turnkey automation, ranging from fully integrated high throughput cells to stand-alone machines.
Key Responsibilities
- Working and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to produce innovative design solutions for a wide variety of industries, from packaging to ocular and medical
- Producing detailed machine and factory layouts using 3D CAD.
- Producing comprehensive bill of materials and parts lists, for all mechanical aspects of a project
- Engaging in regular meetings with the Project Team, Suppliers and Clients, to understand and execute the mechanical requirements of automation projects
- Provide technical support during the build, testing and commissioning project phases
The Right Person
The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will will have Mechanical design/engineering experience within the automation industry as well as the following key skills:
- Highly proficient in 3D CAD (Ideally Solidworks) with experience designing for manufacture
- Mechanical design/engineering experience within the automation industry
- Previous experience using Solidworks PDM or similar would be advantageous

The Project Coordinator oversees all Lifting Platform contracts, acting as the primary contact for customers. This role is responsible for managing design iterations from concept to installation, including BOM integration, stock management, and training for installation teams.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Customer & Contract Management: Handle contracts from order to delivery, coordinating across departments.
- Technical Support: Create CAD layout drawings and resolve installation issues.
- Logistics & Installation: Organise delivery, installation teams, and required equipment.
- Design & Development: Manage product design updates, including testing, production rollout,
- and stock considerations.
- Product Innovation: Support new model development for sales and production.
Key Candidate Requirements - Project Coordinator:
- 2 years of experience in an administrative role within an engineering or construction business
- Can read and/or make edits to 2D CAD drawings
- Has experience communicating with external customers
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems
- Must have access to own vehicle with a full UK driving licence
- Understanding of or interest in engineering principles.
- Ambitious to develop technical skillset
- Computer literate in office applications, particularly in using formulas in Excel.
- Good communication skills to interact with both customers and site operatives.

A spin-out Biotech company, based in Cambridge, is currently hiring several Senior Mechanical Engineers to join them and help accelerate the proof of concept, design, development, building, and testing of a novel life-saving biotech manufacturing device.
Your focus will be accelerating the proof of concept, design, development, building, and testing of the hardware of this new biotech device, collaborating with some excellent Medical Devices Physicists, Scientists, Electronics Engineers, and Design Engineers.
This role involves working on the design and development of this biotech manufacturing device, using 3D CAD. Therefore, specific CAD experience will be essential, ideally SOLIDWORKS.
We need senior-level candidates, someone who has worked on mechatronics, automation, robotics, precision devices or another complex electro-mechanical technology.
Due to the size of this company, you will be exposure to other areas of the business, including third-party meetings and attending Biotech, Medical Devices and Science conferences and trade shows.
