Role overview MIG Welder
As a MIG Welder, you will be working primarily with mild steel plate (3mm10mm), producing bespoke assemblies to tight tolerances using technical drawings.
MIG Welder Key Responsibilities:
- MIG welding and fabricating mild steel parts to specification
- Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
- Inspecting work for accuracy, size, and finish
- Using cutting and hand tools as required
- Operating rolling and swaging machinery (training provided)

An opportunity has arisen for a Fabricator / Welder with structural steel experience to join a well-established provider of high-quality steel fabrication services, specialising in bespoke metalwork solutions for a wide range of commercial and industrial applications.
As a Fabricator / Welder, you will be carrying out hands-on fabrication and welding tasks within a busy production environment. This full-time role offers salary range of £15 - £16 per hour and benefits.
You will be responsible for:
* Assembling and fabricating metal structures using appropriate tools and machinery
* Operating welding equipment and, where necessary, plasma cutting machinery
* Interpreting technical drawings and blueprints accurately
* Following production instructions and adhering to health and safety guidelines
* Using a range of hand tools including grinders, saws, and drills
* Supporting the wider team to meet production targets
* Working on-site in a non-remote, workshop-based setting
What we are looking for:
* Previously worked as a Welder Fabricator, Fabricator, Welder, Welding Technician, MIG Welder, Steel Fabricator, Fabricator Welder, Metal Worker or in a similar role.
* Must have structural steel experience.
* At least 1 year of experience in MIG welding and fabrication would be preferred.
* Competence in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
* Physically able to lift materials and operate a power saw.
* Valid driving licence and own transport.

Formal qualifications within a Welding or Fabrication discipline (apprenticeship, NVQ/BTEC/City & Guilds Level 3, HNC, HND etc.)
Current or expired codings – 6G preferred
Strong & stable experience within a Welding role within a high precision environment
Working hours of the TIG Pipe Welder:
Monday to Thursday – 21:15 to 07:15 (Usually 19:00 to 07:15 with 10 hours of overtime per week)
In return, the TIG Pipe Welder will receive:
Pay Rate: UMBRELLA PAYE: £36.11
Incentive Payment: £1,000.00 for every successful 3-month period worked
Travel Allowances: £400 Weekly allowance + £35 daily allowance (£575 per week) – you must live OVER 50 miles from the Leeds facility to qualify
Overtime: Frequently available paid at time & a half and double time (Sundays only)
Assignment Duration: 3 Month rolling assignment (often extended and sometimes offered permanent, but not guaranteed)
