As a Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods, materials, and equipment across the factory and storage areas.
This is a temporary role (working 12 weeks) offering a pay rate of £16.50 per hour and benefits.
You will be responsible for:
? Operating mechanical handling equipment safely and efficiently in line with procedures
? Moving, locating, and stacking products, pallets, and materials within the facility
? Unloading deliveries and placing stock into designated storage areas
? Checking inbound and outbound goods for accuracy, damage, or contamination
? Preparing and loading products for dispatch
? Supporting stock checks and inventory activities when required
? Using scanning/radio frequency equipment for picking and loading tasks
? Carrying out basic equipment checks and reporting any faults or issues
? Maintaining cleanliness and order within the working area
? Supporting team operations and assisting where required across the factory

Previously worked as a Warehouse Operative, Warehouse Assistant, Warehouse Operator, Warehouse Technician, Factory Operative, Forklift Driver, FLT Driver, Materials Handler, Goods In Operative, Goods Out Operative, Factory Worker, Warehouse Worker, Warehouse Picker, Forklift Operative or in a similar role.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for supporting the management of hourly warehouse staff and coordinating the flow of goods and materials to and from docks, including receiving, allocation, and loading to meet delivery deadlines. Accountable for the accuracy, efficiency, and safety of warehouse operations, including order picking, receiving, and outbound shipments, while supporting key performance metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist with directing and supervising hourly warehouse personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and productive operations
Partner with and back up the Warehouse Supervisor and Warehouse Coordinator in daily operations and decision-making
Coordinate dock operations, including managing inbound/outbound trucks, dock scheduling, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed
Ensure all incoming freight is properly inspected, verified, and dispositioned in a timely manner
Assist with order verification and coordinate the accurate and efficient loading of outbound freight to meet customer delivery requirements
Monitor and support key performance indicators such as on-time shipment, order accuracy, inventory accuracy, and labor productivity
Participate in and support continuous improvement initiatives related to workflow, layout, and material handling to improve throughput and reduce errors
Enforce and model compliance with all safety policies, operating procedures, and housekeeping standards
Process inbound and outbound freight transactions in SAP, ensuring accuracy and timely processing
Assist in training and onboarding of new employees and reinforcing standard work practices
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required.
DOT 49 CFR HAZMAT certified or ability to obtain certification.
Previous warehouse experience preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Experience with SAP is a plus.
Forklift and/or Reach Truck experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
Vision and manual dexterity for frequent keyboard / PC use. Vision sufficient to read labels & tickets, and to safely navigate high volume pedestrian and machine traffic.
Ability to move throughout the Distribution Center.

You will need to be friendly and particularly good with people, as you will interact with our customers daily and will also be required to assist with deliveries to customers' homes.
The role involves, but is not limited to:
Dealing with goods in - carefully checking and signing for deliveries before labelling and putting them in the right location in the warehouse
Picking customer orders and assembling them in our customer area
Loading customers' goods into their vehicles by hand with a smile and a friendly comment
Keeping the computer system up to date with the warehouse and stock information, and using the computer system to check and maintain customer orders
Replenishing displays in the showroom - e.g. when items are sold from our clearance and seconds area, replacements must be taken from stock and installed out on display looking highly presentable

Fixing items and helping with showroom, vehicle, and building maintenance
Stock checking
Delivering customer orders - accompanying our driver on two-person deliveries and occasionally driving the company vans (if over 21)
Keeping the vans and Smart Cars washed and maintained
Collecting goods from our remote storage location to replenish stocks in Bath
Driving the forklift truck and loading and unloading vehicles. Forklift training will be provided towards the end of the apprenticeship, but only after the successful applicant is fully settled into the team and fully committed to completing their apprenticeship and staying on for a period
