Senior Engineer-Coastal Projects

Your role and responsibilities: Take a senior, autonomous role within the RCMP project and lead key technical and operational tasks. Support and guide junior engineers, delegating work and providing training across equipment, survey and reporting tasks. Maintain strong knowledge of RCMP equipment, troubleshoot issues and manage equipment preparation for projects. Lead complex surveys, act as vessel Party Chief and ensure safe, efficient and compliant survey operations. Manage site visits and project phases, including equipment, logistics, finances, data collection and client communication. Contribute to tender reviews, method statements, risk assessments and operational planning. Produce high‑quality technical and operational reports, review others’ work and maintain reporting standards. Process and analyse datasets from RCMP instrumentation and support others in software use and data interpretation. Uphold Fugro’s HSE and quality standards, act as a positive role model and support continuous improvement. Undertake offshore work (70–100 days/year), including weekends and out‑of‑hours support when required. Collaborate closely with Operations, Project Management and Engineering teams to deliver metocean projects. What you will need to thrive in this role: Advanced knowledge of oceanographic and metocean principles. Advanced marine operational planning skills. Advanced capability in data acquisition, processing and analysis. Strong communication skills at an advanced level. Demonstrated personal leadership behaviours in line with Fugro’s PLE framework. Bachelor’s degree in oceanography, science, instrumentation, engineering, electrical, mechanical or equivalent vocational qualification. Relevant technical experience at an advanced level. Valid GWO or BOSIET certification. Valid First Aid certification. Valid offshore medical (OGUK or ENG1). IOSH Managing Safely (Fugro). Working at Height certification. Full driving licence. Senior Engineer

This is a hands‑on and technically rich position where you will work with advanced instrumentation, Helideck monitoring systems and specialist software while supporting operations across the region, including regular offshore projects in West Africa. Maintain strong competence in metocean instrumentation, Helideck monitoring systems and related software. Undertake frequent offshore travel (70–100 days per year), including weekends when required. Provide out‑of‑hours support based on project needs. Support measurement campaigns as a second engineer. Collaborate closely with Engineering Manager, Project Management and Engineering teams. Plan, execute and deliver contractual tasks while supporting field staff and project leads. Perform offshore duties as required by contracts. Understand, service and maintain metocean equipment and electronics. Assist senior engineers with deployment and recovery of buoys, Lidar, ADCPs and similar systems. Complete equipment logs, site visit reports and perform basic troubleshooting. Take responsibility for equipment used in assigned projects. Conduct site work independently, including mobilisation and demobilisation. Train junior engineers in site work, software and safe operational practices. Assess risks dynamically and determine safe working methods. Communicate effectively with project managers, technical support and clients on site. Provide remote support to customers when required. Assist project managers with organising site work, client discussions and equipment procurement. Complete QHSE paperwork and permits. Support large projects as a project assistant or project engineer, including documentation and design reviews. Contribute technical and operational input to tendering. Troubleshoot software issues and undertake out‑of‑hours duties when needed. Write and review technical reports and data analysis outputs. Peer‑review colleagues’ reports and datasets. Process datasets and create meaningful data displays. Compare processed data with other sources and develop peer‑review capability. Surveyor / Senior Surveyor
We are seeking n Surveyor to join Fugro working within the Inspection, Repair and Maintenance (IRM) and Positioning & Construction Support (PCS) Service Lines of the business. The Surveyor will work closely with the Party Chief, Senior Surveyor, project teams, USV, ROV and Inspection. This is to ensure efficient and effective delivery of work scopes. You will ensure issues are suitably resolved or escalated to relevant stakeholders. The Surveyor is responsible for leading and delivering low to medium complexity projects through the effective planning and execution of positioning, navigation, and data acquisition activities. The role includes ensuring accurate offsets, measurements, and calibrations of positioning equipment; setting up and/or operating survey systems; performing required computations; and compiling comprehensive survey reports. The Surveyor is also accountable for applying appropriate quality control (QC) to all data, computations, and deliverables. We are seeking an Offshore Senior Data Processor to join Fugro working within the Marine Asset and Integrity(MAI) Service Line of the business. The Offshore Senior Data Processor will perform the role by providing supervision, guidance and support of all data processing activities and take ownership of projects. The Offshore Data Processor is responsible for resolving complex challenges in situations where established precedents may not exist. This includes coordinating the interpretation and reporting of post‑processed office and field‑acquired geospatial data, performing advanced computations, and preparing comprehensive data analysis reports. The role also involves identifying and recommending improvements to research methodologies and quality management systems, as well as providing technical expertise during tender preparation. In addition, the Offshore Data Processor supports the development, implementation, and documentation of project procedures, and provides informed recommendations, including the identification of any required supplementary investigations. The position contributes to data acquisition planning and execution activities and is responsible for handling tasks escalated by junior team members, offering guidance and support as needed.
