PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To carry out basic vehicle storage, handling and movement operations in accordance with site and customer requirements.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Carrying out basic vehicle movement and handling
• Using HHD scanners to scan, locate and direct all vehicle movements (initial training will be provided)
• Carrying out basic vehicle checks as required and report findings to line manager
• Ensuring all vehicles are parked as per relevant customer standards
• Responsibility for your own safety and of those who work around you
• Maintain a safe driving standard and adhere to site speed limits
• Checking all vehicles for damage before moving and reporting any damage found to line manager
• Carrying out other yard operation duties as requested by the yard chain of command
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
• Must be comfortable driving manual and automatic vehicles
• Ability to work under pressure
• Full valid driver’s licence
WORKING HOURS: Working 06:00 – 17:00. Weekends will be worked as requirements demand.

Key Responsibilities Workshop Controller As Workshop Controller, you will be responsible for the efficient day-to-day running of the workshop, including:
- Allocating technician workloads and prioritising repair jobs
- Managing workshop scheduling and service planning
- Supporting vehicle diagnostics, repairs, servicing and inspections
- Monitoring vehicle health checks (VHC) and technician productivity
- Coordinating vehicle movement within the workshop

- Strong knowledge of vehicle servicing, repairs, diagnostics and workshop operations
- Experience managing technician productivity and job allocation
- Excellent organisation and time management
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy motor trade environment

Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 7:30am 5:30pm

Support Customs Clearance:
Assist in coordinating with customs brokers to ensure goods are cleared efficiently
Learn the import regulations and documentation required for smooth customs processing
Check suppliers invoices against tariffs
Invoice clients out
Track Shipments:
Assist with monitoring and tracking the status of ocean shipments from port of origin to final destination
Communicate shipment updates to customers and internal teams as needed
Coordinate with Freight Forwarders & Carriers:
Help liaise with shipping carriers, freight forwarders, and warehouses to facilitate the movement of goods
Assist in managing schedules and timelines to ensure timely deliveries
Record keeping and Compliance:
Maintain organised files for shipments, invoices, and other import-related documents
Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant import/export regulations and company procedures
Customer Service Support:
Respond to basic customer inquiries regarding shipment status, delays, or required documents
Other Invoicing:
Invoicing out additional storage for containers held off of port

Allocation of an apprenticeship delivery coach who will carry out regular training
