Role Overview:The successful candidate will provide senior engineering expertise across process design, optimisation, troubleshooting and root cause analysis, working closely with engineering, maintenance and operations teams to identify and resolve plant issues. Lead and participate in HAZOP, LOPA, HAZID, SIL and Bowtie studies, supporting lifecycle risk management and ALARP justification.
Experience with batch operations, reactors and distillation columns would be advantageous, alongside experience of Management of Change and inherently safer design.
Strong technical and process safety leadership, with sound risk-based decision making, effective stakeholder engagement and strong project governance skills.

Role and Responsibilities You will produce detailed engineering and fabrication drawings, working closely with Engineers, Project Managers, Fabrication and Site teams to ensure designs are accurate, practical and suitable for manufacture and installation.Key Responsibilities:
Produce detailed fabrication and installation drawings, including isometrics and spool drawings.
Develop and maintain accurate 2D and 3D models.
Interpret P&IDs, engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Produce weld maps, weld details and material lists.
Identify and resolve design issues prior to manufacture.
Amend drawings following engineering changes and site requirements.
Assist with site surveys where required.
Essential Criteria of the Piping Designer
Previous experience as a Pipework Detailer / Designer, Mechanical Designer or similar.
Strong experience producing isometric and fabrication drawings.
Experience using AutoCAD and ideally 3D design software such as CADWorx, Inventor or similar.
Ability to interpret P&IDs and engineering drawings.
Good understanding of fabrication and installation.
Experience within process engineering, chemical, water, gas or manufacturing.
