Ideally hold formal qualifications within Mechanical Engineering or Machining (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, BTEC, HNC, HND or similar) – NOT ESSENTIAL
Have experience working as a CNC Turner, Machinist, Programmer, Setter/Operator within a high precision machining environment
Be capable of editing & adjusting CNC programs using Fanuc controls
Be able to read, interpret and work directly from engineering drawings & diagrams
Working Hours of the CNC Turner: 37.5 Hours per week rotating over AM & PM shifts:
AM Shift – Monday to Thursday 6AM to 2PM / Friday 6AM to 11:30AM
PM Shift – Monday to Thursday 2PM to 10PM / Friday 11:30AM to 5PM
In return, the CNC Turner will receive:
Renumeration: Up to £41,441.40 per annum depending on ability (inclusive of shift allowance)

Role Overview:The successful candidate will provide senior engineering expertise across process design, optimisation, troubleshooting and root cause analysis, working closely with engineering, maintenance and operations teams to identify and resolve plant issues. The role will also involve leading capital projects from concept through to commissioning and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required engineering and regulatory standards.A key part of the role will be supporting process safety within a COMAH environment, contributing to safety reports and leading or participating in HAZOP, LOPA and other process and functional safety assessments.Skills and Experience Required:

Lead and deliver capital projects from concept to commissioning and handover, managing contractors and suppliers while balancing safety, quality, cost, schedule and operability.
Lead and participate in HAZOP, LOPA, HAZID, SIL and Bowtie studies, supporting lifecycle risk management and ALARP justification.
Experience with batch operations, reactors and distillation columns would be advantageous, alongside experience of Management of Change and inherently safer design.
Strong technical and process safety leadership, with sound risk-based decision making, effective stakeholder engagement and strong project governance skills.
