Your apprenticeship will focus on three key areas:
Servicing vehicles - working to manufacturers guidelines to ensure the vehicle is running at optimum performance
Maintenance - replacing parts and components before they fail
Repair - repairing problems that cause vehicle failure
Duties:
You will use diagnostic, mechanical and electrical measuring equipment to investigate faults and identify their underlying causes,
You will inspect and prepare customers vehicles ready for mechanical work
Remove, repair components to the correct specification
Contribute to the safe working environment by working within health and safety processes
Ensure that admin and customer service duties are completed including updating job cards and providing quotations and estimates.
You will shadow qualified technicians to learn first hand how to service, maintain and repair vehicles, as you progress and your confidence and experience grows you will start completing tasks on your own.
Training:
This programme is delivered via a day release delivery model which means that one day per week, your attendance is required at our engineering campus. This attendance is required during term time only.
You will work with expert assessors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession.
You will experience a blended learning model.
You will gather learning evidence, journals and off-the-job records using your e-portfolio.
At the end of the planned learning period, it will be agreed that you are ready to enter 'Gateway' and for your End Point Assessment to be arranged.
Training Outcome:
Upon completion of your apprenticeship you will be a fully qualified Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician.
The ideal candidate will be looking to progress onto a permanent, full time position upon completion of their apprenticeship.

Training:Information Communications Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:
The classroom training for the ICT apprenticeship comprises of 4 modules.
Each module takes 1 week, and the apprentice will attend this in an online classroom with their designated JBC trainer.
When the classroom training takes place will be agreed at the induction meeting between employer, apprentice and JBC Skills trainer/mentor. We advise a bi-monthly approach to each moduleThe full 5 days will be required on the training weeks, and the apprentice must be in a quiet, suitable environment for learning to take place. This can either be in the workplace or at home. The class sizes are small (a maximum of 10 learners) so that discussions and assessment can take place between apprentices, peers and trainers.

Training:
The Apprenticeship will last around 15 months plus a three month EPA (End Point Assessment). 20% of your time will be spent working towards your Level 3 IT Solutions Technician Apprenticeship Standard qualification and the other 80% will be spent developing skills and knowledge whilst performing the role
The next available cohort to start the apprenticeship is March 2025 but potentially will be brought forward subject to demand. This will give you the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge on the job before starting your course

You’ll attend formal BTEC training courses every 6 weeks on subjects such as Electronics, Mathematics, Computer Systems and Telecommunications.
During your apprenticeship, you will be focused on completing your Level 3 Radio Network Technician Apprenticeship. You will also work towards gaining a Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Telecommunications and a Level 3 Advanced Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles.Training Outcome:Upon successfully completing your apprenticeship, you will become a qualified Communications Engineer; if you're the right candidate for an ongoing role, you will play an integral role within our Communications Engineering team to ensure systems consistently meet required service levels.
As you progress, you will have opportunities to develop your expertise and take on additional responsibilities.
