About the Role
As Apprentice Sports Coach, you will lead and support coaching provision within the Men's Football Academy, delivering engaging and development-focused sessions for Further Education students
You will work closely with the Sport Development Officer to develop the football pathway, support competitive fixtures, and help create a positive and inclusive sporting experience for all participants across the Academies
Alongside your day-to-day coaching responsibilities, you will undertake a Level 4 Sports Coach Apprenticeship, applying your learning directly within the role to develop your coaching knowledge, leadership skills and professional practice

Plan and deliver high-quality football coaching sessions within the Men’s Football Academy (Men’s Pathway)
Work alongside the Sport Development Officer (SDO) to design and develop the football offer at Leicester College
Lead sessions that develop technical, tactical, physical and match performance
Take responsibility for session planning, delivery and evaluation
Support match-day preparation, analysis and performance review
Student Development & Engagement
Build positive, professional relationships with FE students Promote an inclusive coaching environment, ensuring all students can participate regardless of ability or background
Support students to engage in sport alongside their studies and promote wider participation
Actively promote physical activity and engagement across the College
Act as a positive role model, consistently demonstrating College professional values
Wider Sports Academy Contribution
Support the delivery of fixtures, competitions and trips across all academies and the wider Sport provision
Organise and lead promotional events to support recruitment and engagement
Positively represent Leicester College at internal and external meetings and events
Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider Sports Academy offer
Administration, Planning & Resources
Accurately record attendance for training sessions and fixtures in a timely manner
Support the creation and scheduling of marketing and social media content to promote academy activity, results and opportunities
Ensure equipment and kit is regularly reviewed, maintained and available to support effective delivery

The main focus of the role will be business development and generating speaking opportunities. You will identify and approach schools, academies, businesses, sports teams, universities and other organisations that could benefit from hearing Jane speak.You will build relationships, create opportunities, follow them up consistently and help turn conversations into confirmed bookings.You will not be starting completely from scratch. Jane already has existing contacts, previous clients, schools, organisations and warm leads. Part of the role will be to bring these together into a more organised system, build a proper database or CRM-style process and then grow the pipeline significantly through new outreach and relationship-building.Once a speaking opportunity is secured, you will also help organise the engagement, making sure Jane and the client have everything they need for the event to run smoothly.Your responsibilities will include:
Identifying suitable organisations, audiences and speaking opportunitiesBringing existing contacts and warm leads into one organised systemBuilding and maintaining a database of relevant contacts and opportunitiesCarrying out personalised outreach by email, LinkedIn and phoneHelping turn enquiries and conversations into confirmed speaking bookingsCoordinating speaking engagements, including dates, timings, venues, briefs and key requirementsKeeping track of leads, meetings, bookings, fees and next actionsManaging Jane's speaking pipeline and ensuring opportunities do not get missedHelping grow the visibility of PIECE by PieceCreating and managing a simple LinkedIn and Instagram content planSpotting stories, testimonials and content opportunitiesSourcing and coordinating photographers and videographers when requiredTurning speaking engagements into future content, introductions and further opportunities

Your exact background is less important than your ability to create opportunities, build relationships and stay organised.You could come from business development, recruitment, account management, events, marketing, PR, talent management or another relationship-led role.Someone from an events or event management background could be particularly well suited, as the role combines generating opportunities with organising the practical details around speaking engagements.You will need to be:Proactive. This is an opportunity to become closely involved in growing a speaking and personal development brand at an exciting stage.Rather than simply being handed a fixed process to follow, you will have the freedom to help shape how opportunities are identified, approached, managed and converted.Speaking fees vary depending on the event, audience and level of involvement, but a typical keynote fee is around £1,000-£1,500 plus expenses.
