Support the raising, responding to, and resolution of cyber security and IT service tickets through the Service Management system.
Assist in the monitoring and investigation of security alerts and incidents, including phishing emails, malware, unauthorised access attempts, and account issues.
Provide first-line support to users on cyber security best practice, including password management, secure system usage, and data protection.
Support identity and access management tasks such as account setup, password resets, and access reviews in line with security policies.

Required Experience

Expert knowledge of and experience in LAN/WAN/VLAN communications, VPN configuration and enterprise wireless networking. Experience of Dell core and edge switches with fibre is preferable.
CCNA/CCNP equivalent accreditation is advantageous but is not essential.
Experience and excellent working knowledge of GNS3 (or similar) is really beneficial.
Firewall configuration, management and monitoring experience is essential. Experience of FortiGate products preferable.
TCP/IP networking stack, DNS, DHCP, RADIUS/AAA, Active Directory, SSL, 2FA, OT skills are essential for this position.
Knowledge of information security standards (e.g., ISO 17799/27002/27001/PCI DSS/SIEM, etc.), rules and regulations related to information security and data confidentiality (e.g., FERPA, HIPAA, etc.) and key network security principles for risk identification and analysis.

Security Cleared Firmware Engineer – DSP Engineer - Cambridge – Spin-Out Company
A new Spin-Out company, based in Cambridge, providing product development for Security Cleared sectors, is currently looking for an experienced Firmware Engineer or DSP Engineer to work on a wide range of new technologies.
You will be working on a range of new technology inventions, providing expert approaches to Firmware Engineering and DSP Engineering applications. Due to the varied nature of the work, we ideally seek someone with knowledge of FPGA, DSP design and engineering, DSP Modelling, and design using embedded systems. Not all of these areas are required, but having experience in as many as possible in your past roles as a Firmware Engineer or DSP Engineer would be advantageous.
Specific experience working on high-speed electronic systems would be ideal but is not essential.
If you have previously worked in a security-cleared environment, it would be fantastic, although not essential as they are open to candidates from different sectors. However, you must be able to obtain security clearance. This usually means being a British Citizen or residing in the UK for five years in continuous employment. If you already hold security clearance from another source, this would be acceptable.

The Security Officer role will include working on various sites in and around the Swindon area.
Both the Control Room and Security Officer duties will be based on a monthly roster in advance and you will also be require to be flexible to assist with holiday and sickness cover.
The role will include primarily working nights day shifts and weekends but will also include other duties that will be issued and rostered accordingly.
Key Accountabilities:
Carry out site security patrols and static guard duties as directed, operating and monitoring CCTV equipment where installed
Assist with checks on public and staff areas and report deficiencies to the appropriate officers
Control public and staff access to premises, checking ID cards where required
Assist with the securing of the buildings at the end of the operational day, and escort staff to their cars
Assist with emergency and evacuation procedures
Be aware of site intruder and fire alarm systems, and utilise the systems to ensure maximum security at all times
Deal with staff and members of the public in a professional manner, compatible with Council policy on customer care, handling difficult situations with tact and diplomacy
Provide emergency response to urgent calls via radio. Panic buttons
Patrol car parks
Undertake other duties that can be accommodated within the guarding level of the post
Respond to emergencies for all sites and deal with accordingly
Detail all entries into loss and records accordingly
While in CCTV control complete complexed logs for emergency situations in clear and precise format
Supplementary Accountabilities:
In accordance with the provisions of the Health & Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999 you must take reasonable care so as not to endanger yourself or other persons whilst at work
You must also co-operate with the Council to enable it to comply with its statutory duties for health and safety
You must work in accordance with training or instructions given, make proper use of any personal protective equipment provided and inform your manager of any hazardous situations or risks of which you are aware
You must ensure you undertake responsibilities relating to your position as detailed within your Directorate Health and Safety Policy

All training will take place during working hours
Programme uses a blended learning approach, combining face-to-face and online instruction
Standard visit format includes one in-person session every three months

Regular personal coaching and mentoring sessions provided
Monthly tutor meetings lasting approximately 2-3 hours
