JOB DESCRIPTION
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Quality Control Specialist educates WTI personnel on the proper use and application of products, providing installation training both on and off the roof. They oversee large self-performed projects from start to finish, conducting intermittent inspections and performing post-completion inspections of smaller projects. The QCS will conduct regular job site visits during the project and after project completion. The goal is to provide consistency nationwide through proper roof repairs and the application of our products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure proper execution and delivery of all WTI GS and GC self-performed roofing work. Provide a variety of technical and application training sessions in both field and shop settings. Provide hands-on application training and supervision of roof coatings and installation. Attend pre-cons on large projects. Be present at job start-ups to discuss the proper execution of the scope of work. Visit the projects at specific intervals to assess the completed work and provide any direction or corrective advice. Perform a pre-final inspection to ensure that the project has a zero-punch list. Perform final inspections when needed. Pre-project field inspections and technical support, including but not limited to: Peel tests Product testing Product recommendations Proper product installations Post project completion inspection to ensure quality workmanship and proper utilization and application of materials. Product diagnostic support to ensure that WTI is kept out of trouble due to misuse of products in the situation. Conduct roof inspections, providing written reports and photo documentation. Conduct on-site safety audits to ensure all safety requirements are met and consult with the safety team as needed. Review and train on large warranty adjustment projects over ten (10) man days. Communicate professionally both verbally and in writing with our Technicians, Foremen, Supervisors, Field Operations Managers, Regional Business Managers, Corporate Staff, and the Sales Team. Complete daily reports including DTA's, Safety Audits, Truck Audits, and QC Inspection Reports as necessary and applicable. Complete weekly/monthly activity reports as requested. Support the region as needed when weather conditions prevent the fulfillment of daily job responsibilities. Facilitate training in a classroom setting. All other Quality Control Inspection-related tasks or training as assigned by the manager. Travel predominantly within the assigned territory and nationally as needed, and complete and submit expense reports on a timely basis.
EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of roofing, roofing repair, troubleshooting, or field service experience. Working knowledge of commercial roofing systems, including built-up, modified, single ply, and metal. Working knowledge of roof coating systems.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong roofing or building science mechanical aptitude. Prior experience in a field service leadership role. Practical computer application literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite and learning the necessary internal business systems) In-depth technical understanding and extensive hands-on knowledge of the applications of products. Objective: The Technical Manager is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality products, robust Quality Assurance (QA) and Control (QC), compliance with regional regulations, support of customers/field initiatives, and effective operations of the laboratory and teams. This capability is required for Kop-Coat core segments in Wood Preservation and Farm & Forest. This leadership role is aligned with market, customer, industry, and business objectives. The incumbent is expected to interact with customer/industry stakeholders to understand and perform to evolving requirements.
Essential Functions
Technical Leadership: Provide strategic and hands-on leadership across formulations, QA/QC, field technical support, and regulatory compliance. Supervise all laboratory operations, ensuring accurate, efficient, compliant testing and reporting of raw materials and finished goods. Contribute, maintain, and manage product project priorities to ensure deadlines are met. Ensure all lab activities and products comply with relevant legal regulations and standards (e.g., EPA, EHS, ACVM, APVMA, MPI, HSNO) and other relevant frameworks. Manage technical aspects of product development from formulation, scale-up, final product testing, and commercialization to drive process improvements, troubleshooting, and manufacturing excellence. Investigate customer/sales factors to optimize formula design and other technical elements, including but not limited to integration with field trial activities (primarily, not exclusively for established portfolios). Continuous development of CSC capabilities (personnel, facility, etc.).
Reporting & Communication: Set and track quality and technical performance KPIs, report results, risks, and improvement plan. Coordinate technical documentation, validation protocols, and reports as requested. Communicate effectively across departments and with key stakeholders. Establish, communicate, and update quarterly team member responsibilities and goals. Establish collaborative leadership relationships within RPM businesses.
Knowledge: Stay current with industry trends and emerging marketing technologies. Contribute to the development of profitable platforms across all segments/markets. Develop knowledge and educate staff on analytical chemistry, formulation science, method development, stability, and compliance standards. Up-to-date knowledge of technical advances in field application techniques, product delivery systems, and quality control innovations. To accurately enter patient demographic details onto the laboratory information system. GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Quality Control Specialist educates WTI personnel on the proper use and application of products, providing installation training both on and off the roof. They oversee large self-performed projects from start to finish, conducting intermittent inspections and performing post-completion inspections of smaller projects. The QCS will conduct regular job site visits during the project and after project completion. The goal is to provide consistency nationwide through proper roof repairs and the application of our products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure proper execution and delivery of all WTI GS and GC self-performed roofing work. Provide a variety of technical and application training sessions in both field and shop settings. Provide hands-on application training and supervision of roof coatings and installation. Attend pre-cons on large projects. Be present at job start-ups to discuss the proper execution of the scope of work. Visit the projects at specific intervals to assess the completed work and provide any direction or corrective advice. Perform a pre-final inspection to ensure that the project has a zero-punch list. Perform final inspections when needed. Pre-project field inspections and technical support, including but not limited to: Peel tests Product testing Product recommendations Proper product installations Post project completion inspection to ensure quality workmanship and proper utilization and application of materials. Product diagnostic support to ensure that WTI is kept out of trouble due to misuse of products in the situation. Conduct roof inspections, providing written reports and photo documentation. Conduct on-site safety audits to ensure all safety requirements are met and consult with the safety team as needed. Review and train on large warranty adjustment projects over ten (10) man days. Communicate professionally both verbally and in writing with our Technicians, Foremen, Supervisors, Field Operations Managers, Regional Business Managers, Corporate Staff, and the Sales Team. Complete daily reports including DTA's, Safety Audits, Truck Audits, and QC Inspection Reports as necessary and applicable. Complete weekly/monthly activity reports as requested. Support the region as needed when weather conditions prevent the fulfillment of daily job responsibilities. Facilitate training in a classroom setting. All other Quality Control Inspection-related tasks or training as assigned by the manager. Travel predominantly within the assigned territory and nationally as needed, and complete and submit expense reports on a timely basis.
EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of roofing, roofing repair, troubleshooting, or field service experience. Working knowledge of commercial roofing systems, including built-up, modified, single ply, and metal. Working knowledge of roof coating systems.

Strong roofing or building science mechanical aptitude. Prior experience in a field service leadership role. You will work as an Apprentice Building Services Engineer within the ARC Oxford Team. You will be required to complete a 4-year training programme that will cover all aspects of the role and will be delivered through in-house training, as well as day-release at Newbury College (Monks Lane, Newbury, RG14 7TD). You will complete a Building Services Engineering - Service Maintenance Engineer Apprenticeship which is within the Construction and Built Environment, and you will gain the Level 3 Building Services Engineering Service and Maintenance Engineer apprenticeship standard on successful completion.
You will be required to attend Newbury College one day a week during Term Time for a mix of theory and practical classes as well as completing the required Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours in the workplace. You will have a Development Coach who will hold regular reviews with you and will monitor your progress throughout.
Please note: If you are aged 16-18 and do not have a GCSE grade 4/C or equivalent in either or both English and maths, you will be required to take Level 2 Functional Skills alongside your apprenticeship. Apprentices aged 19+ can decide whether they wish to take Functional Skills and this will be discussed as part of enrolment.
English and maths lessons will be delivered in person at Newbury College. 16-18-year-olds must achieve Level 2 in the required subject/s before they are able to complete their apprenticeship, and they have the whole duration to achieve these if required.

The salary range for applicants in this position generally ranges between $54,549 and $68,186. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operations, needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
