This is an excellent opportunity for a conveyancer who can handle the full lifecycle, from transactions from instructions to completion independently. THE ROLE:
Assist with a full caseload of residential conveyancing matters including sales, purchases, re-mortgages, transfers and new build transactions.
Build relationships with clients and contacts
Prepare contracts, correspondence and legal documents using case management.
Support junior colleagues with their caseload when required.
Prepare correspondence.
Ensure all files are maintained in accordance with compliance and quality management requirements.
Handle all aspects of conveyancing process autonomously.
Maintain record of billing and file management to meet departmental targets.
THE PERSON:
Licensed Conveyancer, Legal Executive, or experienced Fee Earner.
Strong academic record.
Self-motivated

You will support the residential the conveyancing teams in a wide range of administrative duties.
Providing fee estimates, opening files, producing standard and ad hoc correspondence, ordering searches
Handling telephone enquiries, correspondence & emails to provide updates and information.
Drafting and amending letters and legal documents
Working as part of an office team to provide an efficient and friendly service to our clients”
Take guidance to proactively deal with matters, ensuring clients, estate agents and all interested parties advised of developments at all stages
Liaising with staff from other Ocean group companies
Reporting on contracts to clients
Liaising with other law firms and estate agents when involved in transactions
Develop knowledge and skills for referral of all Ocean services and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
Providing assistance to the office conveyancer as required
Protecting clients' interests at all times, while taking precautions against potential fraud and money laundering
Ensuring adherence to service level agreements, ensuring clients’ expectations are met, updated as necessary
Supporting all team members in providing an exceptional customer experience
Full training will be given in order to complete the above duties to the best of your ability. The Role: Following private equity investment, our client is expanding their Conveyancing Team in Stockport to meet the demands of their flourishing business. You will act for buyers in property purchases and related sales, managing files from instruction to completion. (Hybrid working available after the initial training period)
Key Responsibilities:
- Process sale/purchase transactions from instruction through to completion, liaising with mortgage brokers, estate agents, solicitors, and clients.
- Manage a diverse caseload, including freehold, leasehold, new build, and shared ownership transactions.
- Build strong relationships with clients and third parties, providing regular updates.
- Deliver exceptional service to clients, introducers, and third parties.
- Identify and resolve potential risks to protect clients and the business.
- Maintain files in compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and issue contract papers for related sales.
- Analyse search results.
- Liaise with Help to Buy and mortgage lenders to draw down client funds.
- Prepare completion statements and invoices.
- Handle exchange of contracts and legal completion.
The Person:
- Around 2+ years' experience in file handling.
- Enthusiastic team-player and self-starter, able to work on own initiative.
- Ability to deliver high-quality customer service.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent verbal and numerical skills.
In Return, You Can Expect:
- Salary Range: £25,000 to £53,000 dependent on experience.
- Bonus Scheme: Monthly exchange bonus, quarterly quality bonus, and annual billings bonus, with an estimated additional £5k - £6k annually once you have an established caseload.
- Holidays: 25 days (including 2 for religious/cultural leave) + bank holidays + your birthday off.
- Hybrid Working: Minimum 2 days in the office after an initial 8-week training period.
