As an Apprentice Audio Technician, you’ll gain hands-on experience working on large-scale productions involving Public Address systems, Media Interview setups, Music Stages, Radio Microphones, Digital Mixing Consoles, and Dante audio networks.
This role combines real-world, on-site technical experience with structured off-the-job training delivered by Blue Lion Training Academy, giving you the professional foundation to build a successful career in live event audio engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will:
Assist with setup, testing, and operation of live event audio systems, including PA systems, press conference setups, and stage monitoring.
Support Media Interview zones, ensuring clean, reliable audio capture and distribution for broadcasters and journalists.
Learn to configure and operate Digital Mixing Consoles and networked audio systems using Dante.
Prepare and maintain Radio Microphone and IEM systems, ensuring frequency coordination and interference-free operation.
Help rig and de-rig music stages, commentary positions, and public address zones at major sporting venues.
Assist with signal routing, troubleshooting, and system calibration under live conditions.
Participate in technical rehearsals, sound checks, and show calls, supporting senior audio engineers.
Keep detailed records of equipment use, maintenance, and fault reporting.
Complete structured learning via the Bud apprenticeship platform, attend training sessions, and contribute to tripartite progress reviews.
Follow all health, safety, and site access procedures for large-scale event environments.
Training:All apprenticeship training will be completed on-site at the employer's site.
You will be expected to travel to Derby on 2 separate occasions whilst enrolled on the apprenticeship in order to complete practical training sessions. Training Outcome:

Covering the South Thames Region – Ideally based Croydon, Crawley, Slough, Epsom, Guildford
The team are in a very good position and will be looking to double in T/O should things go according to plan.

The Ideal Person for the Territory Sales Manager
Ideally endoscopy, someone that has sat on the shoulder of the surgeons.
You will need to be a strong team player.
Perhaps ortho, as a similar type of sales role.
The ideal candidate is someone up and coming, energetic and looking to make a name for themselves.
You will come ideally from a medical sales role associated with the organs. So cardio, radio, endo, neuro etc. Not necessarily spine/ortho.
Looking for people that are curious, wanting to learn and not scared of asking questions.
Lots of energy and a can-do attitude.
An understanding of surgical procedures.
A science related degree would be a huge advantage (Bio science degree would be a big advantage).

The Role of the Regional Sales Engineer
As the Regional Sales Engineer you will be selling a range of hydraulic pumps, valves and systems as well as winches for off-shore purposes and radio controls.
You will be covering the Northern half of the UK.
As the Regional Sales Engineer you will be selling to OEM’s mainly as well as some end users and distributors.
You will be selling into the Mobile, Off Highway, Agricultural Vehicle, Construction Vehicle, O&G, Automotive, Bus, MOD/Defence & General Engineering industries etc…
You will be selling a range of high quality, high pressure hydraulics and offering single products as well as systems.
The Ideal Person for the Regional Sales Engineer
As the Regional Sales Engineer you will ideally have good strong field sales experience though they will also consider someone from a technical background who wants to get into sales.
You MUST have a strong technical understanding of Hydraulics and/or Hydraulic Systems.
Ideally a qualification in Mechanical Engineering or long time served.
Would like someone who has worked for an OEM.
Experience with Hydraulic Pumps, Valves and Systems would be a massive benefit.
They will consider a strong internal sales person who wants a step-up or a technical person with the aptitude for sales.

You will be based at our purpose-built production workshop in the High House Production Park in Purfleet, Essex
Your time will be split between the workshops and the Building Crafts College in Stratford, E15, where you will study for a Level 2 Carpentry and Joinery Apprenticeship Standard
Work is usually carried out at the carpentry and metalwork workshops in Purfleet, Essex, but you may occasionally be required to work at other venues
Time at college will be in 2-3 week blocks
Training Outcome:
Able to secure an entry-level role in Scenic Construction / Technical Drawings or similar in the creative industries
Put all the skills learnt at college into practice in a production workshop environment
