Our client are currently recruiting for an experienced and qualified Energy Engineering Manager to oversee and lead the team of Energy Engineers and Energy Auditors. This role requires a seasoned professional with exceptional technical skills, managerial expertise, and a proven track record in optimizing energy efficiency across diverse projects and client companies. The Energy Engineering Manager will drive the team to bring impactful, measurable and cost effective energy impacts to companies’ Private Sector, Community and Public Sector clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of engineers dedicated to optimizing energy consumption and sustainability for our clients’ businesses.
Collaborate with clients to understand their energy needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and propose tailored solutions.
Oversee long and complex energy consultancy projects, including large-scale Energy Audits, Energy Master Plans, and the production of guidance documents.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to the engineering team in executing energy efficiency projects for clients.
Analyse energy consumption data, prepare reports, and present findings to clients, highlighting opportunities for cost savings and environmental impact reduction.
Ensure compliance with energy regulations, codes, and standards across all client projects while fostering continuous improvement initiatives.
Oversee and drive team-wide fee performance, including budget adherence and optimizing project profitability while maintaining service excellence.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Professional Certification: Chartered Engineer status or equivalent accreditation.
Energy Credentials: Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) designation.
Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in energy engineering or related roles, with a demonstrated ability to manage teams and client projects.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in energy management systems, renewable energy technologies, energy modelling software, and data analysis tools.
Leadership Abilities: Proven experience leading teams to achieve energy efficiency goals within client-facing environments.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at conveying complex technical concepts to clients and team members.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Experience managing and implementing energy efficiency projects for various industries or sectors, including preparing tender specifications and analysing returns, cost control, quality management and timeline management.
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements related to client-based energy management, particularly in Ireland and the U.K.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strategic mindset.
