Administrative tasks such as preparing reader contracts, processing of invoices and archiving of paperwork
Carrying out casting research for new projects
Preparation of manuscripts ahead of recordings (including pronunciation research, text splits)
Creation of a file metadata for audiobooks, such as a table of
contents and supplementary PDFs
Adding audio-specific metadata to the bibliographic system
Proof listening of audio files
Supporting our operations team with checking of audio files ahead of distribution, and troubleshooting any issues
Sharing audio files for each title with the editor/author/agents
Work with our marketing and publicity departments to supply audio for reviews
Title availability checks on publication dates across key retailers
Attending studio recordings on occasion
Contributing content for the audio social media account and internal newsletter

Undertaking a variety of administrative tasks to support the Editorial department as required, such as checking e-book files, completing photo permissions spreadsheets for books, carrying out picture research, putting together map references, and returning hard copy artwork to artists.
Managing the Osprey team’s office copies of books, making sure that one copy of each new title is in the Library for reference only and one is on the office shelves, and ordering up any missing copies.
Managing the Osprey editorial inbox and other Osprey inboxes as required. Replying to and logging emails from the public and from prospective authors, such as complaints, queries and book proposals, promptly and professionally.
Running meeting processes for regular special interest meetings, including circulating materials, taking minutes, and completing follow-up tasks.
Leading on Osprey’s backlist e-books project, working with Bloomsbury’s e-books team to clear the rights for, create and make available for sale e-books for backlist titles which currently have none.

Tasks will be varied but will broadly include those to assist in the smooth running of the editorial department, including:
Preparing and administering the sending/signing of non-royalty bearing contracts (contributor etc)
Completing applications for CIP data and copyright registration
Commissioning peer reviews and soliciting pre-publication endorsements for projects as requested by their manager; ensuring these are delivered in a timely way; recording the progress of all projects under review/out for endorsement; ensuring payment as necessary
Arranging the ordering of copies of published books
Maintaining physical and electronic book files and records
Supporting editorial staff in managing data on internal database (Biblio)
Responding promptly and appropriately to external and internal inquiries
Checking and, if necessary, clearing copyright permissions under guidance from the manager
Prepares scripts for handover to production to agreed standards and on schedule
Puts together cover briefs, cover copy and cover designs, where required
Carrying out research into new projects at the request of the manager
Sending emails/letters of acknowledgement and rejection
Undertaking administrative tasks such as filing and archiving of paperwork
