The successful candidate will need to:
Have good Literacy and Numeracy skills, able to support children in reading, writing and maths as they will be allocated time to continue with their learning during the session
Will be able to prepare healthy snacks for the children
Participate in a range of activities with the children during sessions both inside and outside
Be able to assist with the planning of activities, supporting and engaging with children during the sessions
Will have a general understanding of play work principals and seven characteristics of learning
Desirable:
Appropriate Level 2 (or above) qualification (Child Care related)
Experience of working within a play-based setting
Ability to work on your own initiative
Appropriate child protection training
Current 12-hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate
Food Hygiene Certificate

The apprenticeship training will take place within our selected schools, where you will gain hands-on experience in sports coaching
Additionally, you will have bi-weekly sessions with your tutor from Educationwise to support your learning and development

Further progression into roles within primary school settings

The apprentice will assist with the daily running of wraparound care sessions including breakfast clubs and after-school clubs in primary schools.
Working closely with the Site Lead and wider team, the apprentice will help create a safe, welcoming and engaging environment where children can participate in play activities that support their wellbeing and development.
