Essential Duties:
Lead manufacturing launch of new and revised products including tooling, equipment, methods and shop floor support
With the team and through personal contributions, troubleshoot manufacturing assembly and assembly problems, identify root causes and implement corrective actions that prevent recurrence
Lead and execute engineering projects through direct contribution and through team members
Design and implement the layout of equipment and workstations to ensure maximum efficiency and product flow
Select, develop, coach and evaluate department personnel, establishing clear expectations and hold accountable for results
Lead plastics process engineering activities, including process development, tooling qualification, validation, and optimization, to ensure safe, consistent, and cost-effective production of plastic components
Provide hands-on technical leadership to Plastics Process Engineers in troubleshooting molding issues, establishing process parameters and standards, and implementing improvements that reduce scrap, improve quality, and increase throughput
Maintain and prioritize project backlog with defined owners, milestones, and completion dates.
Actively involved in Tier Meetings, working with a cross-functional team to resolve technical manufacturing issues
Communicate project status, resource constraints, risks, and decisions requiring escalation
Develop team capabilities and enhance cross-training to reduce dependence on individual technical experts
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering/Technology, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or directly related field required
Minimum seven years' proven leadership experience in a technical environment required
Ability to evaluate capacity, cycle time, manufacturing costs, and capital project justification
Experience with plastics injection molding and roto molding preferred
Strong communication skills with all levels of staff
Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean practices
Skilled in budget preparation
Ability to communicate technical items to non-technical personnel
Ability to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
Hiring Range:
Between $120,000 - $138,000/year

Monitor machine performance, ensuring equipment is running efficiently and downtime is kept to a minimum.
Identify production issues and work proactively to resolve problems quickly.
Coordinate workloads, allocate tasks and ensure appropriate staffing levels across production lines.
Ensure products are manufactured to the required quality standards and specifications.
Work closely with maintenance teams to report faults and minimise disruption to production.
Monitor production output, efficiency, waste and overall team performance.
Ensure all health, safety, hygiene and operational procedures are followed.
Provide effective shift handovers, communicating production performance, outstanding issues and priorities.
Support the training and development of production operatives.
Promote continuous improvement and identify opportunities to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
Skills & Experience RequiredEssential:
Previous experience in a production supervisory, team leader or senior operator role within manufacturing.
A strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production machinery.
Experience working towards production targets and KPIs.
A practical, hands-on approach with the confidence to support shop-floor operations.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to react quickly to production challenges.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Willingness to work a rotating three-shift pattern.
Desirable:
Experience within plastics, injection moulding, extrusion, food manufacturing or pharmaceutical production.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
Experience identifying basic machinery faults and working alongside maintenance teams.
Previous responsibility for small production teams.
