We are not looking for someone that knows it all already, we are looking for someone who is willing to listen and learn from some of the best personal trainers in Newcastle. In addition, we are looking for someone who is energetic, not shy but friendly and patient with clients. It is important to have good rapport, build trust and long-term relationships with clients.
It can be really tough starting out in the fitness industry (with 80% of new personal trainers failing to make it work!). Expect anti-social hours and starting out with some of the boring jobs initially, cleaning, tidying up the gym etc. But at Roots we WILL drop you in the deep end. We will have you in real sessions shadowing a professional personal trainer and very quickly you will find yourself responsible for your own clients. This is in addition to the fully funded level 3 personal training qualification you will receive (remote learning with in-person examinations). This combination will set you up for a bright career in the fitness industry.
Responsibilities:
Complete the Level 3 Personal Training course - part time remote learning (provided by CMS)
Support the Personal Trainers in their sessions, shadow and learn from them
General duties around the gym, ensure the training environment is hygienic and tidy, maintain equipment, stock take, general tasks as assigned
Later stages - with support from our qualified personal trainers, be responsible for managing your own clients, train them towards their goals and manage their programme and provide nutrition advice
The ability to be confident to teach group sessions
Communication to speak to members and build a clientele of new membership
The ability to work unaided when training permits
A level 2 Gym Instructor qualification is an advantage but not essential

Selling a range of infection control products (Alcohol Wipes, Chlorine Wipes, Detergent Wipes, Disinfectant Wipes & Skin Cleansing Wipes)

To become an apprentice, you must:
Be 16 or over.
Not already be in full-time education.
As an apprentice you’ll:
Have regular one to one sessions with a dedicated trainer either remotely or through visits to your workplace.
Learn and train for a specific job.

Duties include:
Receive and make calls as required. Divert calls and take accurate messages as required.
Ensure efficiency of the appointment system and monitor the flow of patients into consulting rooms.
Ensure that patients without appointments but who need to see a doctor urgently are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner.
Explain practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover.
Advise patients of relevant charges for private medical services, accept payment and issue receipts for same.
Respond to all requests for assistance from patients and other visitors.
Ensure all lab results have been assigned to the correct clinicians.
Ensure all requests for prescriptions are directed to our Patient Ordering Direct (POD) department.
Ensure the daily post is opened, stamped and passed to relevant department.
Become familiar with the appointment systems.
Book appointments and recalls ensuring sufficient information is recorded to retrieve medical records.
Monitor effectiveness of the system and report any problems or variations required.
Checking upcoming appointments to ensure they are booked in with correct clinician and length of time booked.
Enter requests for home visits into EMIS computer system, stating time received and including all relevant information and, where necessary, refer to the duty doctor.
Retrieve and re file records if require.

Training:Level 3 Business Administrator
Our Business Administration Apprenticeship is designed to equip participants with the fundamentals required to work in any business environment. The programme is delivered using a blend of on-line, anytime learning and expert-led classroom training covering core topics.
Throughout this Apprenticeship, participants will be supported by tutors who have worked in a business environment and have gained many years of experience and who can truly support you to develop the skills and knowledge required to work in a wide range of administrative roles. The Apprentices knowledge and competence are independently assessed in order to confirm the successful completion of the Apprenticeship.
Following enrollment, learners engage in a blended programme of training and support that will include attendance at group training sessions, self-directed learning, email and face-to-face support from their trainer/assessor as well as a programme of training devised by the employer.

What will you be doing day to day?
As an Apprentice Nursery Practitioner, you will have the opportunity to rotate around the nursery rooms, gaining hands-on experience in all areas of our nurseries.
This, coupled with your apprentice training in Early Years, will equip you with all the skills, experience and qualifications to apply to progress into a qualified educator role with us. This apprenticeship will either be for a level 2 early years practitioner or level 3 early years educator depending on experience.
