Provisioning Engineer – DWDM / Ciena 6500
£300 per day | Inside IR35 | Hybrid – London
We are looking for an experienced Provisioning Engineer with strong expertise in optical transmission, DWDM and Ciena 6500 technologies.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and document transmission and packet network solutions.
• Provision, configure and test network elements across optical and L2/L3 technologies.
• Support customer service activation, implementation and network upgrades.
• Manage network capacity, disconnects and capacity reallocation.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and network records.
• Ensure designs and implementations meet technical and industry standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network and provisioning issues.
Key Skills & Experience
• Extensive optical transmission / DWDM experience.
• Strong hands-on Ciena 6500 experience.
• Good knowledge of DWDM, ROADM, Flexgrid and photonic layer technologies.
• Understanding of L2/L3 operator networks, with BGP/MPLS knowledge advantageous.
• Experience with optical test equipment and performance monitoring.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Experience with Nokia, ADVA advantageous.
• Cisco, Juniper, Nokia or Ciena certification is a plus.
