In Year 1, your time will be split between studying for a degree and working within Renishaw, gaining valuable experience, and allowing you to apply your theoretical knowledge to practical projects.
During this period, you will receive in-house training to give you the fundamental knowledge and skills required for your apprenticeship. You will be supervised by engineers who are experts in their fields.
The training is designed to allow you to continually build on the skills that are being taught which range from:
Electronic schematic design
Printed circuit board (PCB) layout
Structured programming for embedded systems (software and firmware)
Mathematical modelling
Design and testing methodology
Years 2 and 3 will include dedicated placements within the electronics groups in various divisions across Renishaw, allowing you to work on real projects and products.
Years 4 and 5 will allow you to begin specialising and develop your skills in a specific field of your knowledge within the company, finally in Year 5 finishing your studies with a BEng (Hons), completing your apprenticeship through an End Point Assessment (EPA) and taking up an appointment within a Renishaw division.Training:

Following the completion of the apprenticeship you will transfer off the scheme into a role and division within Renishaw where there will be continued improvement and development of your skills and knowledge
