Looking after plants kept in the Faculty

MAINTAINING STOCK OF SCIENCE MATERIALS, CHEMICALS AND EQUIPMENT:
Taking stock of chemicals, consumables and breakable items.Writing orders and checking deliveries
Ensuring purchase requirements for experiments are done during working hours
HEALTH AND SAFETY:
Advising staff of any problems associated with practical activities
Providing advice and assistance on the development of new class practicals
Ensure all use and disposal of chemicals follow CLEAPPS Guidelines
SUPPORT FOR THE SCHOOL:
Attending and participating in meetings as required
Improving one’s own practice through training, observation, evaluation and discussion with colleagues
Keeping abreast of current developments
Assisting in the setting up for open evenings and open mornings
Accompanying pupils and teachers on science related school trips
Support Faculty Science club.
SUPPORT SCIENCE TEACHERS ACCORDING TO THEIR QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE IN SUCH DUTIES AS:
Assisting teachers and pupils in the classroom during practical work as and when required by teaching staff
Constructing apparatus and equipment
Reprographic work - if required in an emergency
Development of systems of storage and stock maintenance

Your main responsibilities will include:

Training:In addition to your Level 3 apprenticeship qualification, we offer a unique 2 year apprenticeship programme filled to the brim with a wide range of certified qualifications such as, Producing Components Using Hand Fitting Techniques, Assembling and Testing Electronic Circuits, Electrical Safety and Fundamentals, Test Equipment and Fault Diagnosis, Soldering, Maintaining Mechanical Devices and Equipment. You will spend a mixture of time working alongside a block and day release course to gain the technical skills required to carry out your duties as a Higher Education Technician. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide independent support for primary territory product lines.
Recommend products and solutions outside of primary product lines with occasional direction.
Provide site support by performing general and complex product applications.
Perform substrate analysis using specialty equipment.
Keep up-to-date technically on practical procedures, specialized techniques to apply new knowledge within the field.
Provide field support by collecting data for project or product specific testing and interpreting results.
Recommend application policies within technical literature.
Coordinate 3rd party testing certification/approvals
Provide live and/or web-based training for internal staff and/or external customers. Create instructional hands-on demonstrations in a classroom, distributor locations, or job site settings showing application of products. Exercise clear and confident communication of product lines and construction practices during presentation delivery.
Use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether designs or applications comply with local codes, industry standards, and regulations.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, Construction, or similar preferred. and 2-4 years of construction or industry experience OR
Minimum High School Diploma or GED with 5 years of construction or industry experience
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 2 years of related experience and/or training with the application of EIFS / Plastering
Metal or exterior wall panels experience
Active listening and attention to detail
Building and construction knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or restoration of buildings or other structures
Knowledge of product application
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
