Day-to-day tasks will include:
Working to agreed safety principles and rules and influencing colleagues to do the same
Working to agreed quality policies and specifications
Help investigate, analyse and drive continuous improvement across the production environment
Define and assist in collating and updating Standard Operating Procedures, Centreline, Process Fault Trees and Downtime recording
Support with daily/weekly machine autonomous maintenance check/shifts, inspectors highlighting any defects immediately via the work request system
Working with continuous improvement of efficiency, cost and material usage
Operating machines on the production line and maximising the output of the machines
Training:This is a level 2 Lean Manufacturing Apprenticeship delivered over a duration of 12 months. The apprentice will be required to attend the training centre, In-Comm Training and Business Services, Telford, TF3 3AJ, 1 day per week.Training Outcome:
Full-time position as a Technical Operator once this apprenticeship is successfully completed

Safely operate the robotic welding cell and associated equipment following appropriate training, operating procedures and risk assessments.
Robotic welding process, including machine operation, welding parameters, fixtures, consumables and basic fault finding.
Set up and prepare the robot welding cell for production, including loading components, checking fixtures, selecting the correct programme and ensuring the equipment is ready for operation.
Follow engineering drawings, manufacturing lists, job cards, welding specifications and work instructions to ensure components are produced correctly and consistently.
Carry out first-off and in-process checks.
Monitor robotic welding operations and identify issues.
Escalate technical, quality or equipment issues.
Carry out daily Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and operator maintenance checks on the robot, welding equipment, fixtures, safety guards and associated equipment.
Maintain the welding cell in a clean, organised and safe condition at all times.
Ensure all safety systems, including guarding, interlocks, light guards and emergency stops, are functioning correctly and report any defects immediately.
Develop knowledge of robotic welding programmes and assist experienced operators and engineers with programme optimisation and improvements.
Work with colleagues to identify best practice in robotic welding and establish consistent methods of working.
Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, repeatability, cycle times, material usage and overall equipment effectiveness.
Participate in continuous improvement activities, including identifying waste, reducing downtime, improving setups and eliminating recurring production issues.
Support the development, review and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, check sheets and other production documentation.
Ensure SOPs and work instructions accurately reflect the current best method of working and highlight where documentation requires review or updating.
Record and communicate relevant production information, including downtime, quality issues, machine faults, programme issues and improvement opportunities.
Assist with investigations into non-conforming products and contribute to root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Work closely with the Welding & Fabrication, Production, Quality, Maintenance and Engineering teams to improve the overall performance of the robotic welding process.
Design, manufacture and modify jigs and fixtures for robotic welding applications.
Work closely with the welding and production teams to ensure robot-welding jigs provide accurate, repeatable and efficient component positioning.
Assist with continuous improvement of machine processes, tooling, jigs and fixtures to improve quality, efficiency and safety.
Ensure all materials, components, fixtures and consumables are correctly identified, stored and handled.
Ensure jobs are scanned on and off Mie Trak as required, maintaining accurate production and traceability records.
Follow all company quality procedures and contribute to maintaining compliance with BSI standards.
Develop knowledge of welding consumables and ensure appropriate materials are used in accordance with job requirements.
Assist with changeovers and setup activities to minimise production downtime.
Learn to operate and safely use prep and fabrication machinery relevant to the role.programme and operate tube and sheet laser cutting machines.
Learn to troubleshoot tube and sheet laser equipment, identifying and resolving common operational and programming issues.
Develop an understanding of laser programming, including preparing and modifying cutting programmes to meet production requirements.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Lean Production Supervisor will oversee day-to-day manufacturing activities of his/her respective shift, to meet daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly productivity goals. The position will provide leadership for the hourly associates, driving the lean (MS-168) processes to maximize growth, throughput, and customer service. Other responsibilities include workforce flexibility, reducing operating costs, inventory reduction, Lean Six Sigma and Small K initiatives, and overall safety and operational improvements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead shift manufacturing activities and team members in the safe production of quality sealants, caulking, coatings in accordance with work instructions and company policy to ensure a quality product is delivered on time.
Implement and maintain safety standards as required by law and company policy.
Use various software/systems (such as DAKOTA, iLead, RPM One, etc.) to report and measure specific metrics and key performance indicators including but not limited to health and safety, compliance, inventory, yield, absorption, etc.
Comply with all reporting requirements including but not limited to incidents, near misses and non-conformance.
Provide job-related training and coaching to employees and ensure safe standards of work are regularly followed, modeled, and reinforced.
Provide technical and supervisory expertise to resolve processing issues, identify and implement corrective actions, and continuously improve processes, teamwork and collaboration.
Manage execution of the production schedule and communicate challenges to leadership. Ensure next shift is apprised of any challenges or extenuating circumstances that may impact production expectations.
Effectively supervise, manage, and lead staff by example including but not limited to performance management, discipline, development, resource planning, effective communication, documentation, tracking, etc.
Monitor production outcomes and implement appropriate timely actions for improvement to meet daily production quality and quantity goals.
Lead regular tier meetings and participate in Gemba walks with production staff. Post constraints, identify waste, and drive resolutions in a timely manner.
Review and update documentation for Operator Standard Work and drive compliance to expected values and outcomes.
Utilize problem solving techniques and teamwork building strategies to meet or exceed the facility key operating statistics.
Facilitate workflow management, workforce scheduling, and team members' placement to ensure the facility and company goals are successfully met or exceeded.
Lead and conduct lean process audits, share results, identify alternatives, implement improvements, communicate audit results, monitor success and report out on outcomes.
Adhere to company policies, standard work, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
