This impressive engineering organisation supplies complex parts & components to a number of high-profile organisations within the global defence industry and have just decided to invest over £1m into 3 brand new 5-axis machining centres with multi-tasking capabilities.
Because of this investment and increased workload, they are actively recruiting a number of CNC Machinist vacancies across their day and night shifts.
For these vacancies we are looking for skilled Millers or Turners who can program machines from scratch using machine controls (Fanuc/HAAS ideal but all controls considered).
Shifts available:
Days: 37 Hours per week – Monday to Thursday 07:30 to 16:00 / Friday 07:30 to 12:30
Nights: 48 Hours per week – Monday to Thursday 18:00 to 06:00
The CNC Machinist will receive the following:
Renumeration: Based on experience and ability
Days: £18.55
Nights: £22.63 (inclusive of allowances – discussed at screening stage)
Holiday Entitlement: 33 Days (25 days + 8 public holidays)
Overtime: Frequently available

Set up and running of a Bobst die cutting machine in line within company targets
Achieve daily production plan
Comply with company processes and procedures
Achieve daily, monthly and annual targets for the team, KPI’s and OEE

Passing of own work
Work with a flexible approach and when required assist with other processes in the factory
Comply will all company health and safety procedures
Training:
The successful candidate will complete Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Apprenticeship Standard. This will be delivered in college one day per month and a workplace visit once a month from the college tutor
If you do not hold any maths and English qualifications, you will need to complete functional skills at Level 1
English and maths classes would be weekly until the exams are passed
Training Outcome:
Possibility of permanent employment and going on to complete further qualifications
